But seriously, tomorrow Minecraft releases on PS3 (everyone in UK will probably buy it again; it's ridiculously popular over there). Some questions answered:

Minecraft: PS3 Edition comes with everything present in other console versions. They’re pretty much identical to play, and will be developed in tandem from now on.

Q: Will Minecraft: PS3 Edition feature DLC texture packs and skins?

Downloadable skins and texture packs will be available from PSN soon after release.

Q: Will there be PlayStation-specific content?

PlayStation-specific skins and texture packs would be cool! Fingers crossed, eh?

Q: Will Minecraft: PS3 Edition feature Remote Play or compatibility with the PS4 or PS Vita editions?

Love the console version; the simplified crafting system, and invite system (XBL) to get into games and chats is terrific. Nothing beats laying in bed playing Minecraft into the wee-hours of the morning. Although, I don't have the time anymore to play it that way these days.

Missed the "console" part of the other versions.

Never understood the appeal of this game. Making content in Little Big Planet is so much more fun and satisfying. Needless to say... won't be getting.

Still trying not to buy it. I'm seriously afraid that I'll get hooked. I'll wait until January 6th to seriously think about purchasing it.

Bummed that there hasn't been a Next-Gen version yet. For whatever reason, I've always hated Minecraft PC, so I'm really hoping the new versions of the game has the same sort of expanded features that the PC version has.

May I ask why my friend? Being highly stylized, graphics matter not. And content wise, it wont match the pc. May as well just pick it up on a tablet for all the difference it makes.

Which is pretty much one of the main reasons to play....

Yup minecraft, sims, diablo, civ, etc etc pretty much every PC franchise has received attention because of there being so few games on consoles vs the PC. Nogamesstation needs all the help it can get :(

You have to make your own fun. I bought it way back when it was in Beta on PC, played it for about 2 hours before I stopped.

Same, except I didn't buy it, only played the demo. Minecraft is a poor man's Terraria.

Yawn, inferior console port of a game on the PC. Have fun paying for player skins and having none of the community-generated content available for free on the PC.

Already own it on the PC and the 360. Can't see a reason to buy it again.

much like LBP the fun comes from your own imagination,perception and way you approach a task.

Minecraft is much more fun on survival in my honest opinion and designing your own little world in creative mode it can make it pretty fun.But the fun lies in exploration and such for myself.

4 player split screen, as always, is the absolute best way to play a multiplayer game. I'll save the online, headset wearing, telecommuting crap for work ;)

It was never exclusive to begin with, and it was on PC first...

Not for something like MInecraft,and the lack of player made content on the console version is a huge deal since that´s pretty much the reason why Minecraft became so popular in the first place,almost no one plays the boring ass vanilla these days,aside from the ones that didnt get the PC original that is. :p

It´s almost like if you had a port from some great MP only PC FPS and all you could do was play against bots on the few vanilla maps lol.

The only reason I can imagine not playing Minecraft on PC with mods and all (the thing that makes the game good with longevity) would be on the Vita for the portability.

The market on the PS3 is going to be nowhere near the size of the 360. MS paid for the head-start and now they are reaping the benefits, big time. It's great that it's becoming available on another platform (it's a great game) but it's a little too late to the game.

The viruses, maintenance and price are certainly greater.

Have you played Minecraft? How would that game lend itself to splitscreen play?

If you're going to play "Slavery: The Video Game" at least play it on PC. I mean, c'mon.
