I just hope it lets Crytek know that they have a worthwhile series in their possession.

It's not 100% official yet. They still need to get the permissions from Crytek. I don't see why Crytek wouldn't work something out with them.

With Crytek and Microsoft best friends as of late ya never know. If it gets the go ahead you can bet it will be on the XB1 as well.

Don't see why they would keep it exclusive on any one platform.

Hope Crytek gives the go ahead. They can get paid like a licensing fee or something just dont be douche bags and block the release of a game they have no interest in making.

This really is the next best thing.  Having all 3 multiplayers mashed together with revamped online and using the cryengine.  Plus it is on PC :).  Oh man I hope they nail it.  LOVE the series!

If Crytek is smart they will just take a licensing fee or somethign like you said, then see how successful it is.  If it does well, hire up some of the team (or all, whatever) and start making TS4.

It most likely will... However! Crytek might experience the same problem Square-Enix did with Final Fantasy XIV if Crytek implements cross-play between PC and PS4.

Microsoft is pretty stingy about allowing openess between the platforms so that could be a reason why it would remain PC/PS4 exclusive (but I doubt that'll happen; still worth mentioning though).

It will end up flopping. I have no idea why the series gets as much love as it does. I have read many times where the game sales were disappointing. So it is gonna be another game hyped to Hell that no one plays.

It wasn't. Gamecube owners hyped the 2nd one to hell and back because it was the only FPS on the system worth playing.

It needed better marketing. I bought both 2 and Future Perfect brand new. All my friends did as well. I would buy this the instant it came out. I've been saying since Future Perfect was released that I want a new game.

Shut your dirty whore mouth. It was better because it was oriented towards fast-paced arcade action, like the old Goldeneye/Perfect Dark type shooters. It didn't take itself seriously and was much better off because of it. The level of customization in the multiplayer modes and the map editor was far beyond most shooters at the time. While most were offering deathmatch, Timesplitters had everything under the sun.

I remember playing TS2 and a bit of 3 back in the day with friends and enjoying it.

Would be interested in a PS4 version.

It was outdate in some aspect but had mode and settings that modern FPS still fail to replicate. I remember flame tag and other fun in part 2. Part 3 scewed up, added some thing like vehicle and big map but removed a lot of fun things.

Timesplitters 2 just isn't. I tried playing it after the masterpiece that is Future Perfect, but i just couldn't get into its weird, unintuitive gunplay. The aiming is clunky as shit.

Now, Timesplitters 3: Future Perfect is a fantastic game. Not only is its gunplay fantastic, and up to par with what i deem good (solid, fast and precise) but the campaign is so much more fleshed out. The plot is filled with funny quotes and so much comedic value. The artstyle fits perfectly. The level design, albeit far more linear than in 2, is extremely varied. It's incredibly fresh and unique, which is a sight to behold for an old game. There's a crap ton of multiplayer modes aswell.

It's the best first person shooter of the 6th generation, and in my opinion, one of the best campaigns ever made in a first person shooter. It's criminally underrated, and more people should play it.

Oh, it's undoutebly the best i've played of that generation, and i have tried most of them due to me wanting to enlarge my collection for my 6th gen. consoles.

Just pure, undiluted entertainment, from start to finish, with a comedic plot that i loved going through because it felt as fresh as freshly squized orange juice.

I respect your opinion though, nothing wrong with thinking differently. Let's see what titles from the 6th generation you consider better.

Though if you mention Halo: CE, i'll have to express my opinion on it fore front, by calling it a boring slog through endlessly repeating environments, endlessly repeating enemies, and a extreme lack of gun variation. One of the most boring, repetitive and down right painful games i have ever played in my entire life.

Wow, I actually decided to visit a Timesplitter forum yesterday (been a few years) and I saw a thread about the game. I was excited, but I had no idea it would release on PS4.

Yes IMO Halo:CE and Halo 2 destroy any and all Timesplitters games but like you said everyone has an opinion For me it's all about gameplay and the original Halo does it perfect

ts4 was rumored forever ago.

here is one from june 2011.

"Specifications for the new machine have not been finalised, but Crytek is using Microsoft's DirectX 11 as the current basis for next-generation development. Tessellation, multithreaded rendering, and compute shaders are the three headlining features for DirectX 11."

TimeSplitters=shit Its basically the game Free radical made when they figured out they were idiots for leaving Rare and nintendo, because all they were capable of doing was making a goldeneye clone on next generation systems, the games are shit, the stories they tell are shit, and the mechanics are shit I remember playing one of them on xbox live and getting headshots by hitting opponents in their legs the aim and lag compensation is insane.
