>says Xbox version of Thief is a lot better
>Said TR on PS4 is only slightly better
That's just funny. TC

Thief is the new BF4, it runs like ass on all ports. Not exclusive to PS4 like some of you hope, sorry. :(.
Nope sorry it's the FACT that your Kaz ass biting almighty Cow box just don't have the power that the great Kaz has lied to you about. Enjoy bad frame rates. Have a nice day
Top lel. Cheap shots now? C'mon man you have better material than that. Lol'd at the long description. The only multiplatform dev that has had trouble with the PS4 condemns its power when the game runs like horse shit on PC also? Trolling 101, you need to go book it out of the library again.
Why do you care ?

Hahahhaaa masked on neogaf.. enjoy your still inferior xbox one version..lol
So after all that it was written by some fanboy. Lems jump the gun again, the hint was that despite how this was only one small site, this would generate major clicks yet not a single of the big sites said anything similar? IGN cites drops on both consoles for example.

Seems the person who wrote this article turned out to be a 100% lembot in disguise. GAF did its duty and took out the trash. Article now holds no weight.
Delicious. Every lem in this thread owned and embarrassed.

well since i saw who was the TC i knew this thread wpould be full of bs and butthurt lems
Dem magical sdks!!!
lol thief, lol random article, lol 900p. I haven't even see the Xbone version (must be so ugly they're hiding it from the public until the game is released) but on PS4 it looks like Oblivion with better lighting. wtf is up with their engine? I remember seeing first pictures when Thief was announced and it looked truly next gen. Now it looks below average. I want to see this game maxed on PC.
Wasn't this game made using Unreal Engine 3 (heavily modded). I guess their modifications have really done wonders for the performance.
Anyhow Xbox One wins this round, does not matter what the reason for the **** up is, there is one and PS4 fans should deal with it. There is no compromise for bad frame rates. <30FPS is unacceptable for any period of time. Resolution should have been scaled back if 30FPS could not be maintained end of story. PS4 Theif is not the definitive console version unless it gets patched.

The whole article has been disproven already haha. You're late.
IGN Review:
If you’re a stickler for frame rate, the PC version is the only place you can play Thief at 60 frames per second, as both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions are limited to 30 and occasionally stutter below that - usually during cutscenes, oddly enough.
Polygon Review, written by Arthur Gies.
The frequent, significant frame rate issues I encountered on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One were less so. They don't make the game unplayable on either platform, but they hurt the overall coherence of presentation that Thief seems to be working so hard to build. When it isn't stuttering, it's an often stunning game.
The link in the OP has been debunked, as the author proven to be a forum poster on NeoGaf who was banned for blatant fanboyism. Still waiting for DF analysis.
I don't blame them for doing that, looking at these forums and some news articles in the past few weeks the one and only thing PS4 fanboys want is 1080P(native), nothing else matters it seems....game should sell well on the PS4.
LMFAO!!! the power of the PS4 strikes again
Haha.......Sony is pure hype. They never deliver.
Uh oh..........
Cows shooting their mouths off is coming home to roost.
Awkward...

It doesn't have framedrops on the Playsation 4, article was proven false.
Sounds like both versions are bad and the PC wins yet again.
After reading several reviews, the PC version is the worst. Many, many bugs.

well that's not exactly true, it's just proven that the author is biased . Other reviews do seem to show that both platforms have frame rate issues. Probably have to wait on DF for actual numbers

Ok so...
1) Hermits: Bahaha poor consolites and their pitiful consoles
2) Cows: At least the PS4 can do 1080p
3) Lems: See Cows, you're system isn't THAT much better. You even have worse frame rates!
Ok, got it...

Haha I was waiting to see who would notice. I thought about putting it in Italics, but then it would be too obvious.
No name site with no direct link from the OP... sounds legit enough. However... The low score means I will probably really enjoy the game.
I saw in gameplay videos that the PS4 version had a lot of stuttering, later I saw a video of someone playing the XB1 version and noticed it didn't stutter as bad, so this isn't surprising to me.
But compared to the PC version that is smooth as silk both versions run like crap.
So both versions are crap but this proves that the PS4 isn't the almighty second coming. I guess that guy from Red Gaming Tech was right....eventually as we progress through this gen, things will become more and more demanding and both the X1 & PS4 will drop resolution to keep up with effects and framerate. I guess both sides will be looking at upscaled games in the next 1-2 yrs. If Ryse was any indication of a 900p, upscaled game, I could care less.
Google the fist sentence when you want a source ladies and gents:
http://www.craveonline.com/gaming/articles/650465-thief-ps4s-low-framerate-is-proof-that-1080p-isnt-always-the-answer
I think I'll wait for a credible source or someone actually showing the Frame rate drops before I'll believe it.
This makes no sense. The only reason the Xbox One version is at 900p is that it couldn't do 1080p at a stable framerate. They wouldn't have the PS4 version at 1080p if it couldn't also maintain a stable framerate. They would drop it to 900p or lower to get the framerate up. Dropping the resolution a bit won't kill the details of the scene as quickly as reducing the amount of rendered details. It seems a small resolution decrease is preferable to reducing rendering effects in the first place.
The Xbox One is easily capable of 1080p, it's just a matter of framerate stability. The resolution gets dropped so that the framerate smooths out. If a game is running at 1080p on the PS4 that means it can do 1080p at a stable framerate. There would be no reason to keep a game at a resolution it can't run. The whole reason we're seeing Xbox One games at lower resolution than the PS4 is because it struggles to render the same amount of detail at 1080p and maintain a similar framerate because the GPU is weaker and it has that ESRAM that could be a bottleneck depending on how the developer coded everything.
I haven't read anything about noticeable framerate drops in the PS4 version of Thief. This guy seems to be the only one reporting it.
Poor Jonathan Leack. DF just embarrassed him.
Each version is guilty of genuine frame-rate drops too, especially when traversing main roads in The City. This manifests more aggressively on Microsoft's platform, where drops down to 20fps are possible, as compared to 25fps on PS4 - but in amongst the frame-pacing issues this is trivial. The stimulus seems to be interactions with multiple guards, and travelling at high speeds around the game world - neither of which are necessarily the core tenets of a stealth game. In either case, the PS4 version technically holds steadier at these particular stress points, but the end result still appears choppy.
As a frustrating aside, even the game's pre-rendered cut-scenes have performance issues. Drops down to the 25fps range are spotted on Sony's platform, whereas the Xbox One shows up with frame-pacing stutters. This is easy to pick out even on the reference PC version (where performance is otherwise 60fps), and is most likely a result of further inefficient background asset streaming. Fortunately, Thief's install directory on PC shows us that there are only six of these cut-scenes to worry about though.
Bu bu but muh 9 fps.
In general, both ports are hack jobs and you shouldn't bother with the game. Which sounds about right.
