Not a fan of google-translated sources, but awesome news if true.
I've always wanted to play The Witcher. Playing TW2 would be enough solace. :')
I am not going to say it's not true, but you need a better source than that, if you say CONFIRMED! in the title.GeneralShowzer

:P
Both one & two in the same box would be pure sweetness and as far as RPG sales go, that would be big I'd bet.
Can count me in. :D
It's really dope, man. Best RPG this gen.I have yet to play The Witcher but it gets alot of praise here. I hope this is true since WRPGs are my favourite genre
PAL360
Good, the more Witcher fans, the better the franchise will do overall. Hopefully the pc version will remain unchanged by console plans.
The official word from CD Projeckt RED is that the game is PC only at the moment with console versions of the game planned for the future. That is not a "confirmation" just a statement of intent.
Do not try to spin it like there is a real confirmation. Websites get things wrong all the time.

"Planned"
I posted this when this first popped up:
Lets stop this before false information spreads too much
They actually didn't say that in their Press Conference.
They mentioned that their engine is more flexible and will allow for the option of console versions in the future, but right now the priority is on the PC version and only the PC version.
Sorry to dash the hopes of anyone who wanted this, but I felt it was necessary to correct the false information from the article.
Video
At 2:11 they mention it. That was from the Press Conference. Clearly, the statement was taken out of context and misinterpreted.
Also, from the Lead Moderator on the Official Forum:
There is no intention to release TW2 on PC and console simultaneously. As Sparrowhawk said, one of the devs in the dev diary mentioned the new engine has more flexibility which enables a console version. But the priority of the TW2 developement is the PC version. I think it's also mentioned (assured?) in one of the previous statements of the CDPR poeple.
Lead Moderator
Right now, it is PC exclusive. Console version is potentially coming down the line, and it is PLANNED, but that is the extent of it. A lot of things can be planned. Until work actually starts on it, lets please NOT say that the console version is coming. It will only result in trolling and then disappointment if it doesn't ever happen.
The video and all the "confirmations" you posted originated from the March 24th press conference. That DID NOT confirm a console version during that event. They suggested that one may come at some point in the future, but right now, it is not being made.
here what they said:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Witcher_2:_Assassins_of_KingsOn March 25, 2010, the first gameplay video was shown to the audience.[6] They have also stated that they will likely release console versions of the game once development for the PC version is complete and a publisher has been found."
right now, only PC,consoles probably later, there is no "Confrimation" of consoles right now.
He said that they will release PC version first, then X360 version and PS3 version after that. He is CDP chairman, he know what he's talking about  I'm from Poland so I know what he said in this interview ;)

Well.. Theyseems to be contradicting themselves then.

We're releasing The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings in Q1 2011 and it's coming out on PC. Regarding any other platforms nothing has been announced yet. Nothing has been promised yet. Nothing has been shown yet. But everything is kept well secret and planned for.
Tomek Gop
That was on the 31st.
That was the Senior Producer of the game...

CD Project chairman is of course above developers ;) This was interview about bussiness - sales of the first game, publishers in different regions, budget of the game and etc. Console version was mentioned to, and as I said he confirmed that game will be released on them. Developers will probably confirm this soon ;)

You sure he wasn't suggesting that the PLAN is to release console versions later? Because the developers have pretty much said that they aren't working on a console version right now, and they aren't going to start until they finish the PC version.
Also, corporate people always get information wrong and say the wrong things. Riccitiello does is all the time for EA. He gets interviewed, says something, and then it comes out that he is not correct. He is correct sometimes, but he isn't always right.
I hope I can understand wats going on if I missed one. I dont have a good enough PC to play the first part.
