The Wii fad is over..?

The latest NPD numbers show that the Wii has plummet to a pityful 340k while the PS3 sold an astounding 127k

if that trends continues the PS3 will have outsold the wii in an forseable future

that begs the question

did the wii fad fade and will the PS3 finally take over..?

edit: wait is this about the wii droping in sales, if so what does the wii normally sell?. Or is it about the wii not being a fad, which it is not, and it is likely to outsell ps3 and 360 for the rest of the gen?

The Wii fad will last as long as the PS2 fad.

It's over for me. The Wii held my interest for about a week. My kid and wife still play it though.

340 k is better than any April NPD month than the PS2 ever had in its entire lifecycle....

However, even if the Wii stops selling completely, it will take many months before the PS3 to catch up to where the Wii is now in total sales.

its funny how Wii "falls" to 340k, yea it falls to selling only 300% more than its competitors than 700%

oh wow, what a disapointment, i'm sure they're wheeping over only selling 1 million DSi's in NA in April too

not really. just a month or so PS3 barely outsold wii with one week having a large gap

now wii is back on top with Monster Hunter 3 coming out this summer in JP, and fall everywhere else, where as the game that will sell PS3s FF13 may not come out in Japan til 2010 now, maybe past April 2010, as they said themselves they're "trying hard" to get FF13 out but by then Arc Rise Fantasia, MH3, FF CC: Crystal Bearers will have sold alot of Wii's

i wonder will FF13 hit NA before DQ10 hits Japan?

woah, wii FALLS to 340k! sounds bad. 360 almost outsold by the PS2! not a good look. sounds like bad news for both the 360/wii

NOPE! turns out the PS3 was by far the lowest selling console out of the 3! why no mention of that in the thread title? surely being handily outsold by the PS2 is far more embarrassing than "nearly" being outsold by the PS2. and surely outselling the direct competition combined is far better than being the worst selling console that month, right?

but then i read "Proud owner of a Gaming PC and a Playstation 3" in the TC's sig, and then it all made sense :lol:
