The Stanley Parable 9/10 on GS

So what's your thoughts SW? Do you prefer Narrative over Gameplay, I myself prefer a mix.

I suppose it's fine to get a few of these games here and there, as long as they're interesting, and well written.

Not the direction I'd want for the industry to take, though.

Standards have gone up since both GTAV, and Beyond Two Souls came out, so this game is obviously the best game of the year so far.

actually I agree. I just worry the industry will start treating this genre not unlike puzzle platformers in the Indy space. They seem fairly easy and relatively safe to make, and can be done so on a low budget.

I will say however this game has much more replayability than Gone Home had, That in itself is a step in the right direction.

Anyways, I'll probably try it. Seems to have a Portal/Gone Home vibe to it.

Is this the same game as the mod that came out years ago, just with better graphics?

The mod was amazing, this remake with new story elements is (so far) even better.

You HAVE to play this game with an open mind though, it's superbly written and you'll miss a lot of jokes if you try to play it like a normal game.

Played for 40 minutes and love it. The writing/narration is absolutely brilliant.

I'll pick it up, The games intent is definitely not lost on me.

I did like the mod, that dry english humor never gets old for me.

My thoughts: Just another example of how reviewers value quirkiness and narrative over gameplay. Who gives a shit about controls or challenge as long as your playthrough provides you with a bloated sense of sophistication.

Every gamer should play it. It's such a brilliant deconstruction of modern video games that it will give you fresh perspective on game design. Plus it's freaking hilarious.

Yes, pretty much. The self-satisfied narration that's constantly spewed at you isn't even insightful or funny.

Just got done reading it. And again Petit puts out a garbage piece of work, it really might as well have been a user review. I think a good review is something you can relate to or enjoy even if you disagree with it. The only way to enjoy a petit review is if you wholeheartedly agree with her. And I'm sick of her constant use of the word "you."

The review really is horribly written.

when your game is an adventure titles guess what will matter more. If what you say was true then GTA V would have scored a 6 . They give weight in aspects of the game depending on the genre of the game. What do you expect ? Is like criticizing something like rock band review because it scored high due to the music .
