What about play PS2 games?
Oh, and what about Linux and Open Office?
What about doing your homework?
I mean, if they're going to use teh catch phrase "It only does everything" it should at least be able to do what previous PS3 models could do.

It does that too. :|
Not the one they're advertising for $299Geez, it's just a tag line. It doesn't do everything, I hope this is obvious. What about play PS2 games?
TheElfChild
Does it really matter? Get a PS2 if you haven't already if you really want to play PS2 games that badly.
The line there is just to grab your attention and you know what? It did.

Personally when I buy a new console, I buy it for its games, not its predecessors games.
But it doesn't do everything, especially when you compare it to previous PS3 models. It's false advertising. It doesn't cook breakfast either. Or bring Michael Jackson back. Or find you true love. What about play PS2 games?

I really dont understand peoples obsession with BC. Seriously does everyone just throw all their systems away when the new ones come out? if you throw those out then why on earth are you keeping the games for it if you know full well the next system your buying cant play them???

dude its a GAMING machine
I see no real problem with the fact the system doesn't do every thing promised at launch Its common course for sony.
Bring out a system and promise it will do every thing, then slowly over time remove ever extra functionality out of it till its just a game machine again.
They did it with ps1, they did it with ps2....Im not suprised they are doing it with ps3...next up on removal is the wireless functions.

But it doesn't do everything, especially when you compare it to previous PS3 models. It's false advertising. Then take it up with Sony if it bothers you so much. B******* and moaning about it wont do a thing.
And the PS3 has its name for a reason, its a totally different console to the PS2, in fact, it isn't a PS2 which means it doesn't have to play its games.

The fact is, it USED to be able to. Now it doesn't. It doesnt' even do what it used to be able to, why advertise that it does everything? well I was talking about the homework which is obvious because of the bold. That being said do ou really acually car about an advertisement or did you just want to create some controversy in system wars?......People complain that why does it do so many extras now complain that why doesn't it do more. Very Hypocritical..RadecSupremeWhenever contradicting views pop up, someone always has to say something like this; but the question is, are you observing the SAME people doing it? Because I'm not the same person as PS3 owner "X" over there.
It don't fly either!! :xWhat about play PS2 games?

How could I possiby be happy with a system that doesen't fly?!
I'm not saying it should be able to do the impossible. But I am saying that if they're going to advertise with that kind of catch phrase, the system better be able to do AT LEAST what previous models could do.It doesn't do everything,
It can't rob a bank.
It can't hug you when you're down.
It can't laugh at you when your back is turned.
It can't have knife fights.
It can't play the banjo.
It can't win the Superbowl.
Etc.
It's false advertising really :P

Ehh system wars... All you cows saying that its no big deal that PS3 doesnt have BC anymore, but if it was the 360 without BC and if the PS3 had it, it would be one of your main arguments, besides RROD of course.
[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]link or it didnt happen :| LOL um...how could it not have happend if it hasn't happend yet? its a future event of speculation, I claimed nothing other, but its par in course for sony they remove every thing promised till you get the base bones.next up on removal is the wireless functions.

1.False advertising is advertising something that is knowingly false. 2.The pc version didn't come out till later there were no plans for it when that game was released.OH NOES, FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!
Serious mate, it happens all the time. It was this, that and the other in the past, and it isn't that now.
So what?raynimrod
So I guess we are all in agreement that it's yet another misleading ad by Sony...
