The problem with Sony keeping first party exclusives, exclusive to Ps5.

Its already widely accepted that there will be less Ps5's in production than the Ps4's in the first fiscal year. Ps4 sold 13.7 million consoles in the first year. Its unlikely the Ps5 will match given the Pandemic and higher cost. So will it benefit Sony to release exclusive's to only the Ps5 when only 15 % of the total current consumer's can even purchase them ?

Even more disturbing the best exclusive Sony had Last of Us sold 19 million copies. How can you have great exclusive sells when you don't have the consumer base to sell them to ? Is this why Sony is dumping all their exclusives now ? Do you really expect Sony to spend the time and money to produce exclusives to a limited consumer base, limited by production numbers. I doubt you will see many Exclusives for a while. If they did produce them it would be a profit loss !

They're gonna want exclusives to move their hardware, especially early on.

And exclusive sales don't necessarily scale to install base.

Because they continue to sell years after they release and, early adopters tend to be the hardcore / enthusiast crowd that will definitely buy exclusives.

You got to keep your most loyal fans happy.

Nah, let's keep moving forward. Let's not tie next gen games to last gen hardware. Sony, if your spies are reading this, I will gladly buy PS5 with a compelling PS5 exclusive.

This post doesn't make most sense.

Spending on launch window is higher than latter on,do to the small quantity of games,for example Killzone SF in just 1 month and a half sold 2.1 million copies on a 4.2 million userbase that is a 50% penetration how many games today don't even reach 2 millions,by the way TLOU didn't sold 19 million copies in 3 days it took YEARS to sell that.

People need to stop crying MS loss its exclusives period,learn to live with that without inventing shit to downplay sony having exclusives,that is how the market has operate since it begins and is not going to change now because MS wants to.

Well the Exclusive list this gen, Exclusive to Microsoft ! HALO infinite. Hellblade 2, medium, Scorn, Call of the sea, Ascent. Ps5 Godfall. So far ! Lets see the game reveal. This is what's confirmed so far as Exclusives !
