PlayStation 4 Ships 63.3 Million Units by June 30th, 2017. The PS4 has sold 60.4 million units as of June 11th. That's all we know of at the moment. It's beasting right now.

http://wccftech.com/playstation-4-63-3-million-units-shipped/

http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2017/08/ps4_shipments_pass_63_3_million_as_sony_finds_itself_in_good_health

"Sony’s PlayStation 4 is doing as well as ever, and the company says its PlayStation VR (PSVR) headset is partly to thank for that.

63.3 million PS4 units have now shipped worldwide. The company confirmed that figure in its latest quarterly report. Note that this doesn’t mean 63.3 million units have been sold to consumers, merely sent out to stores. Still, we know that PS4 has sold 60.4 million units as of June 11th, so that figure can’t be too far off.

More importantly for VR fans, though, Sony’s Games division highlighted a 5.4 percent year-over-year increases in revenue to ¥348.1 billion (about $3 billion). In the call, the company said that this was largely due to increased game sales and “the contribution of PlayStation VR.” Sony has previously said it makes money on every PSVR headset sold."

For the current fiscal year, the company plans to distribute 18 million units of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro, with the goal of reaching 78 million consoles distributed on March 31, 2018.

During 2016's 3 quarters, NVIDIA shipped 25 million discrete desktop PC GPUs.

For the current fiscal year's 18 million units for PS4 and PS4 Pro plan, it's pretty good news for Sony and AMD.

@KBFloYd: X1X isn't going to put a dent in the ps4 sales lol. I've got nothing against it and would actually like to get one as I don't have a 1 yet, but it's sales are going g to be LOW with it's $500 price tag sitting next to dirt cheap ps4s, Switch (if Nintendo do can make enough) and the of X1.

it will put a dent in pro sales ..... not the regular ps4.

pro sales will be very low this year with the xbox X coming out imo..... not that it matters since the pro isnt sony's best selling sku.

Hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...

That is the most sad argument on your part yet this holiday the xbox one will beat the xbox one X,just like the PS4 Slim destroyed the Pro,even more on this case since the disparity in price is pretty big,and considering that is $100 more than the Pro and lack many games the Pro has even more.

Strong numbers, but if the Xbox One's sales are still in the 20 millions, then we've most likely seen an overall decrease in total world wide console sales this gen.

Estimated to be at 29 million and change as of last December, so no way is it still in the 20 millions. Low to mid 30 millions is what I think it is at right now, probably low since its sales have slumped since the Switch's release.

While there's no doubt that the PS4 did very well this gen I think things are going to start slowing down for it. First off the Switch is the hot new item right now and should be through this holiday season and beyond. Secondly the Xbox One X is nearing its launch and I'm expecting that to do reasonably well and also impact the PS4 sales.

Yeah, for a 200k.

Sales increased 5.4% year-on-year (a 4% increase on a constant currency basis) to 348.1 billion yen. This increase was primarily due to an increase in PlayStation®4 (“PS4”) software sales including sales through the network, as well as the contribution of PlayStation®VR, partially offset by the impact of a price reduction for PS4 hardware which took place in September 2016.

Compare this to the total number of exclusives sold to see how pathetic the numbers are.

it will finally do it this year i think.... after 3 years..... 3DS is at 67 million....ps4 is at 63 million. 4 million more.

i mean the 2DS xl just launched but i doubt it will radically increase sales.

Yeah is the clear choice over the pro if you don't like games and don't own a PC. lol

What does that have to do with the PS4? PS4 doesn't have a discrete GPU or compete on that market.

1. PS4 has AMD's Liverpool APU and AMD's Linux Vulkan driver still recognize it as such and it's Steam Linux machine capable.

PS4's APU copyright still belongs to AMD i.e. not like CELL's joint IP sharing between IBM, Sony and Toshiba.

I covered both technical and legal viewpoints.

2. This is systems wars not PS4 forum. NVIDIA's GPUs powers most gaming PCs.
