The Outer Worlds on Xbox One X will receive an enhanced version but PS4 Pro gets nothing of the sorts!

When a major AAA game launches, buyers want to know how it runs on Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro (PS4 Pro). We reached out to publisher Private Division and a spokesperson for the company said that the game was "4K on Xbox One, no enhancements for PS4 Pro."

Now that's something you don't see everyday. Xbox One X gets an even greater version but nothing for the Pro is a rare thing to see. Basically, the X gets 4K and 1080p on both the PS4/Pro since Obsidian Entertainment for whatever reason, opted out of enhancing that version. Keep in mind both X & Pro use different tech but it does show the Pro is outdated! PS5 couldn't come out sooner! I'm sure the Pro will get updated later on.

No doubt you all know I'll be playing Outer Worlds on PC, I'll get an even better version :)

I'm more excited that it's on gamepass, which is probably the best gaming value of the last 3 generations combined.

Even though this game isn't published by MS, they do own Obsidian so they're going to make sure they get the perks of that. Just buy (or Game Pass) the game on PC if you've got one.

Enhanced version on an Obsidian game? Lol. That sh_t is funny. Go look at the new gameplay clip. The graphics look just barely better than Fallout 3(or FO:NV). Basically if you're buying this game for graphics you're wasting your time.

This is an Obsidian game though, so I am betting it will have its fair share of performance issues. Surely performance on a Pro might edge out better than a base PS4. Maybe too the Xbox One X might suffer on performance if they try to push the visual fidelity to its limits. Anyhow, this is launching on GamePass so that's what I find most beneficial.

There's an update to the GameSpot article stating the game will get 4K textures and 4K resolution on XB1X and that PS4 Pro will utilize upsampling, so not like Pro is going ignored.

No. At this point, fighting over which version does checkboard 4K the best while struggling to maintain a steady 30fps is really boring. The current consoles have a year left, and if you're a PC owner that maintains just even a decent rig, this stuff is eye-rolling by now.

4K isn't a standard PC gamer spec by a longshot, its whole reason for existance is large TV's, nobody needs 4k sitting 12 inches from the screen on a 20 inch monitor. So while 4K tech on consoles is pretty impressive, it's far from necessary or even standard on a PC rig.

This is just another example of PC Gamers trying to "compete" with consoles for relevance and attention instead of shutting the **** up and playing their supposedly awesome games.

You would think with the massive number of games available on PC, they wouldn't even have time to post here, but here they are sniffing console's underwear and begging for overrated games like RDR2 just because it's available on consoles, which goes to prove that PC fanboys are just console gamers who WISH they had a first-party hype train of their own but don't.

4k on the X, not 4k on the Pro.

4K isn't a standard console spec LOL. Hell, most of the time X1X can't do it natively, and the Pro isn't even touching it. And it's not as if the majority of console gamers even have those boxes. With PC, you have to buy into it to get it, and you don't have to buy an entire box to do it since a PC is a modular box. The option is always there.

PC games can also be played on televisions, and PC games that are also on console can be played with controllers as well. Console doesn't have any advantages anymore. PC gaming concentrated on performance and fidelity first. The only reason consoles are pushing toward performance IS because of what's capable on PC. Console makers come to AMD for help, not the other way around.

RDR2 on PC is going to make the console versions into trash by any rig with even fair modern components. Since you claim the PC lacks corporate slavery first party cheerleading, explain why Xbox got on their knees crawling to the platform to save their ailing games? Because not enough Xgoons buy exclusives, that's why. Anybody with a damn phone will be playing that shit soon.

I own a condo apartment. Regardless, what you stated implies that utilizing consoles as opposed to PC will reduce a hydro bill by $100. That's very much not the case.

So yeah, of course an X is just a locked down PC, no one pretends it isn't, it's not meant to be a general-use computer (altho it has alot of "computeresque" stuff on it like Smartglass and you can cast your PC games to it over wifi like Nvidia Shield.) What mods you can install depend on the developers, just like on PC, it's generally a much more "casual" platform.

PS - Online servers cost money, just because YOU aren't paying for your BF4 server doesn't mean SOMEone isn't paying for it, they're just paying for it on your behalf, also the Xbox online ecosystem shits all over the PC online ecosystem. You're running across empty barren MMO's, meanwhile on Xbox people are in party chat, they're pretty much connected full time playing with their friends. (Friends, you know, the thing PC Gamers don't have because they're busy tweaking their graphics card in their dungeon.)
