The Outer Worlds can be best FPS/RPG hybrid since Deus Ex?

Hello friends,

Recently theres a game got announced by Obsidian the Outer Worlds. and quickly become my third most anticipated game of 2019 next to Metro Exodus and Doom Eternal. the more i see the more it looks interesting but when was last time we got amazing FPS/RPG hybrid? well it was Deus Ex Human Revolution before that it was original Deus Ex and System shock 2. STALKER is FPS with light RPG mechanics so not counting it anyways. Fallout on other hand is very poor shooter RPG hybrid.

Unlike fallout or witcher. the game doesnot use open world apporach which is plus for me instead its linear yet open level design which is what we need today. the combat looks better than any of RPG game in past years even though its once again bullet sponges enemies. so everything about this game looks excellent.

it makes me realize that it can become best FPS/RPG hybrid since Deus Ex.

so my friends, what do you think? lets discuss

If Ghosts is hyping a game then that means it will flop.

Saying Outer Worlds will be the best game since Deus-Ex is a pipe man's dream.

Count me hyped. Loved everything I read and saw. This bad boy came outta nowhere and has SP written all over it. :D

If the story is anything near the Mass Effect original trilogy, then I might try it.

but mass effect has terrible story. infact terrible series all round.

I didn't ask for your opinion on the series, so you might as well as refrain from giving it.

Looks good but I'm much more hyped for Cyberpunk 2077. I also hope they go in their own direction so the Fallout creators don't make a Fallout clone that ends up being worse than Fallout. I need to see some originality or something to differentiate it or I'll just stick with Fallout 4 while avoiding Fallout 76 like the plague

Stop with the hyping. I blame you for Just Cause 4 not being what I thought it would be.

It looks good and I think that it will turn out well enough but I’m more hyped for Cyberpunk 2077 and think that will be the better game.

I’m just glad it’s coming to the PS4 as well. So glad that I’ll be able to play obsidian last multi plat before MS runs them into the ground , like what ms hAs done to a lot of their first party studios.

I have not seen nearly enough to be hyped. But from what I saw were kinda 50's esque pictures that kind of reminded me of Fallout.

@ghosts4ever: It looks like it could be, but it's made by Obsidian, so it'll probably be a solid 8.5 with surprising flaws that belong in a game from 2008.

I'm looking forward to the game but I'm much more excited for cyberpunk!

cyberpunk looks like GTA clone rather than immersive FPS/RPG hybrid.

gameplay reveal was very underwelmingly.

Eh, it has plenty of promise, but to talk about it in the same realm as Deus Ex and System Shock 2 is a bit premature.

Nope, it's nothing like Deus Ex.

This game doesn't appear to play anything like Deus EX... This feels like a post made for the purpose of attacking CP2077.

not comparing it to Deus Ex but like deus ex it is FPS plus RPG.

So is cyberpunk also feel nothing like Deus Ex. you can complete Deus Ex without killing anyone yet in cyberpunk you have to shoot 300 people across corridor and in car chase sequence.

I think Cyberpunk might take the crown that Deus Ex, after nearly 20 years, still wears for best first-person RPG.

Outer Worlds looks great and it might be better than Fallout: New Vegas, but we shall see.

@ghosts4ever: I didn't say CP2077 did play like it. But going by your responses and your history this seems like a post made just to take shots at CP. Am I wrong?
