@Pffrbt: That's modern gaming for you these days bud. Devs are to afraid to try something new so they stick with the tried and trusted formula. I don't specifically have a problem with that as long as I'm having fun. But let's wait and see what R.A.D has in store for us. It's hard to judge from +- 1 minute of actual game-play. They might actually surprise us.

Looks great. I wonder however if the 21:9 (wasn't it?) ratio catches on. They say they are using it to create a cinematic feeling... possibly but the resolution savings will be HUGE. Arguably allowing for the game to look that good, because its showing less. An interesting argument against games for xbox not running at 1080p but using the whole screen.

Graphics are not a big seller for me but the story is, i love the setting and form the little footage they showed of the gameplay it looks extremely fun, everything seemed so right to me in that trailer and this what makes me fall in-love with PlayStation even more is because of the constant production of new IP's its exciting!

im seriously glad that they are focusing on the story mode and not being forced to have a mulitplayer because not every game has to have a multiplayer mode ( though to be honest The order could be even more awesome if it had co-op play with another friend )

simply cannot wait for this and infamous second son ( since i loved infamous 2 so much that i played it 3 full times to platinum it ) though i have to buy a PS4 first -_-

Not once has a cover shooter that emphasizes being "cinematic" actually surprised me and been anything other that mind-numbingly boring.

It really isn't difficult to see where this game is going. The emphasis on being "cinematic", the QTEs, the paint by numbers cover shooting. It's going to be generic and boring as shit.

TLOU isn't the best game of last gen because it isn't even good. At its best the game is only ever mediocre and as it slowly drags on it just becomes more and more depressingly tedious and boring.

No since I generally like my PS3. Why would you think I have something against Sony.

Pretty sad though, Guerilla must be pretty upset to have that Graphics King Crown snatched away from them. That crowns gonna be juggling between most of Sony's first party titles anyway to be fair. Almost as if they'll be playing 'Keep-away' with Microsoft studios in the middle with short arms.

This trailer made me question the direction of the game, I too thought there would be more adventure to it. We'll see how it plays out, but as of now I'm feeling pretty meh about it.

Sony's gonna have to hit hard with these exclusive, Infamous and The Order can't just be decent games. I also have an X1 and have been playing Titanfall, its good. Sony is going to have to give me a reason to turn on my PS4 at some point, I can only play so much Assassins Creed and Killzone.

Guerrilla never had the crown, Shadowfall was an inconsistent mess in both gameplay and visuals.

I can already tell the gunplay is wonky as hell - oh well - hopefully the story makes up for it

Ok this thread kind of derailed into a pissing match with Pffrbt and gang...

But anyway, the visuals were definitely striking, along with the almost seamless transitions they are employing here. Gameplay so far seems typical cover-shooter;however, something kind of caught my eye. When the character jumped down into the pit, and threw the enemy to the ground, it seemed that there were two options: either attack the head maybe or, as was demonstrated in the trailer, he grabbed the nearby knife. So I'm a little curious about the melee system and how far it may extend.

But seriously, looks great, though the gameplay looks quite stiff.

Pls do say what games you think are good or better than TLOU.

Only on PS4, nothing comes close to this graphically right now. The lighting, cloth physics, character models and post processing effects are on a whole new level.

I get they are aiming to make it look like a movie, but even the framerate is a smidgen short of 30 (just like a flim). Hopefully they can sort that out.

I wouldn't write this game off just because it is a cover shooter though. How the world, narrative and gameplay mechanics all tie together as a whole is important. If it weren't TLOU would simply be an average shooter.

Visuals = Stunning

Gameplay = Nothing interesting

I suppose just showing off the visuals in the first gameplay trailer makes sense, but for the next one I hope they show what their gameplay hook is.

Remember GT5 and the five year eternal launch window? Remember how Polyphony was saying all those CGI trailers were game footage? Not so.

Now we come to 1886 claiming the same thing. Why make a CGI trailer when you can just make a in game trailer?

Also I noticed AI worse than TitanFall bots.

This game is like Gears of War meets The League of Extraordinary Gentleman meets 800p and silent film grain.

It's weird that a couple of shots in the leg isn't enough to make them turn around :)

damn, those alleys are small. even Gears had areas bigger than this to fight in. and that QTE lasted way too long. looks like cows are getting games light on gameplay with a lot watching again this gen.

It's funny to see people doubting RaD in terms of gameplay when the GoW psp games imo were nothing short of amazing both visually and in terms of gameplay. I personally think RaD will deliver in a pretty big way.

The parity between cutscenes and gameplay looks good, but the actual gameplay, however little of it was shown was really underwhelming, like a poor man's Gears of War, the AI was especially worrying, and there wasn't any sense of satisfaction from the actual gunplay. Moreover, facial models are totally lacking. The developers would need a lot more than this tidbit to colour me impressed. Don't get me wrong, the game's setting is totaly likeable but what was shown thus far doesn't warrant special praise so far.
