What year are we in again that Nintendo can't make the demo available for everyone?

Nintendo does make demos available for everyone, but this is a closed beta. Not sure why this is an issue, when others do it all the time too.

You seem to be using the words demo and beta interchangeably. Which is it? The game releases in a week so let stop with the frivolity.

Nintendo needs all the help it can get these days. This isn't the first time you couldn't play a demo w/o a code. Sure they make demos available but they are plagued with needless grief and obstacles before one can play. Codes, limits on how many times one can play, a small window of playing, etc.., all come to mind.

As a matter of fact, I just finished up playing the star wars beta. It was quite difficult though and I had to go online and download the files and within 15 minutes I was up and running. It was so involved I required a cold drink afterwards.

It's both- a demo for the local multiplayer, but a beta for the online portion (more of a server stress test, really)

What a frustrating game. I had to re-start and find another group of people to play with because one person did not understand how to move a block. Also constantly getting picked up and thrown off the edge of platforms, and also doing that to other people by accident. I can see potential there but it really depends on who you are playing with. Will be passing on this one.
