The Last of Us Part 2 smashes sales records - 4 million copies in three days!

Well at least I bought it l. I'm not a Playstation hater which is the only reason half this thread hates it. It does have some terrible narrative decisions though.

Sony first party is killing it. This is why they don't have to dump their games into a subscription service. You make the games good enough, people will show up. I'm playing it now and having a blast.

For everyone else it's really no surprise TLOU1 received GOTD so this one being a huge improvement you can't really say anything else.

I could be wrong but I don't think TloU 2 will beat God of War or Spiderman. Word of mouth matters and GoW and Spiderman was very much liked by the general public. TloU 2 seems to be more divisive.

It's a great game, deservedly so. The story is weak compared to the first and filled with MTV teen love circle soap opera drama nonsense, but gameplay is solid. Funny how the narrative has flipped on this from the first...."Everyone likes the first because of its story instead of its weak gameplay" to "Everyone likes the second because of its gameplay instead of its weak story".

@Zero_epyon: Animal Crossing sold 1.8 million in the first three days, in Japan alone. It probably eclipsed TLOU2's sales worldwide, despite having a much smaller install base than the PS4.

Also, apparently Animal Crossing sold over 11 million copies in 11 days. Let's see how TLOU2 does next week...

Just finished it. Definitely love the game. I was into it from beginning to end. Story is not as good as the first but I still thought it was good. Gameplay, audio, graphics are top notch though.

@Planeforger: again that’s good for Animal Crossing. I’m saying it doesn’t make TLOU 2’s sales numbers any less impressive considering it’s the best performing title Sony’s ever had.

its also their most criticized exclusive ever.
