Once The Last of Use ships for the PS3 I don't think any other exclusives will even compete with the game, probably not until next gen. From the trailers and the gameplay at E3 this game looks amazing.

Looks like a good cinematic game

It does not compete either visually or in gameplay to Halo 4 for example

Especially the gameplay looks like a joke, but will be a nice little game to watch for an afternoon, like Uncharted 1-2-3

Moviestation 3 is amazing for 5 hour movie like games, like Uncharted, Heavy Rain and Dragon's Lair

Seeing as it might actually be the last exclusive new IP of the gen. Sure, why not?

This is what I was coming in here to say.

Outside of game delays, 2013 is probably the last year there will be big budget exclusives at all for current gen consoles. After that it will just be games that got delayed, lower budget niche games, but all the big budget development will have moved to next gen.

It will already be next gen by the time TLOU is out and I'll be enjoying Pikmin 3 to death at that point. At this point I'm not feeling it from TLOU. I want them to really push the survival aspects and cut down on cutscenes. In any case I really feel we haven't seen close to enough of TLOU to make any solid judgment on what the game will actually end up being like so I'm still waiting to make a decision on whether I want it or not.

I own all 3 systems and probably play the 360 most, but come on your comparing The Last of Us with Halo 4. Halo 4 going to be the same old same old. Wow add some new guns, a new shiny alien race, and a developer that will either make the game a bit smoother or mess it up and you get Halo 4. At east with The Last of Us it has a fresh new survival story backing it.

That's after practice and knowing where to go though. It's still a 10+ hour game in first playthrough.

Pretty much every game can have it's playtime drastically reduced on subsequent playthroughs, if you just blow through it, skip cutscenes, and take shortcuts (where available). Hell people figured out how to beat Demon's Souls in under an hour. Pretty much any standard shooter can be blown through in just a few hours.

Yes, from all the cut scenes showing 0 gameplay and scripted ( probably pre-recorded ) footage shown at E3 we can all tell its going to be the most amazing game ever because we have travelled to the future and back on the hype train.

And don't give me that "Bu-buh--NAUGHTY DOG SAID IT WOULD BE DYNAMIC IN AN INTERVIEW!!" bullsh*t.

Of course they're gonna say it won't be linear in an interview because THEY WANT PEOPLE TO BUY THE GAME. This won't be the first time a developer has lied about a game before it was released.
