Yeah, that's pretty much my take on it. If they were transforming GoW to something truly unique and untested, I'd say it's a risk. But this seems to be extra safe if anything, something that will likely have even more widespread appeal.
When I read risk, I assume we're talking a commercial risk. And really, I just see no chance of this game underperforming due to these changes.

Naturally. There will always be fans displeased with any sequel, especially one that makes sweeping changes to the core approach of the game. I don't even consider myself a fan of these games and I'm already displeased with what's been shown so far.
I just don't see those guys having a huge enough sway to really say it's a risky move.
Honestly wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being the best selling GoW game to date.
