It's weird. Granted it's been a slow year for fighting games, but just roll with what you have. And even still, there were other fighting games released this year that didn't make the category for whatever reason. On the flip, if you're going to include Sifu in that category then what's stopping Bayo 3? God of War? Ninja Turtles?

No logic to it.

Also sucks how every year they stuff the show with all these random ass categories while leaving out significant gaming categories. Best Esports Coach, but no Platformer category? Best Adaptation, but no Roguelike/lite category? What? Most genres aren't represented, or their games get shoehorned into another category randomly.

Then you always get nominees and winners that don't make sense. And I don't mean in the "oh they didn't like what I like" stupid way.

Like in 2020. Hades taking the action category. A fine game, no doubt, but it excels as a roguelite. It's action was whatever, serviceable. Not the best action in a year that had Doom Eternal, Nioh 2, and Streets of Rage 4.

Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarok are both triumphs. They really both deserve it and It's been a great year in gaming.

The Switch has jailed Bayonetta3 to an unplayable performance because of the system its on. Its normal this thing is not being nominated for anything (and bombs in sales).
