What a surprise... no Forza Horizon 4 on the GOTY list. Because it's against the law to have a racing game as a GOTY.

Kinda disappointing not seeing FH4 as nominee for GOTY, I do feel like the game deserved to be there. Happy to see NMS nominated for best ongoing game. What a turn around.

To be honest, I was hoping FH4 be nominated for GOTY because despite it's on Xbox One, the game was well beautiful on PC, FH4 should have been up their in my opinion. That game is really awesome and for a racing, I'm not a racing guy, but FH4 surprise me this year then I expected to be.

It is easier to get higher mc when go by racing standard compred to Spiderman going by the action cinematic standards which is the GOAT genre.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey really shouldn't' be there. It's a great game, but not GOTY quality. I would replace it with Astro Bot or Forza. I guess I totally forgot that Smash Bros wouldn't be there due to Game Awards being early December. Likely a 2019 contender then.

I am glad to see 6 contenders up there since it allows for more recognition for the less mainstream titles like Celeste.

RDR2 is obviously probably going to win this.

Last year, Horizon: Zero Dawn & Persona 5 got nominated for 2017 GOTY and both won several categories but not GOTY. This year, it's Marvel's Spider-Man & God of War for the PS4. RDR2 however was a given.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey, even I wasn't expecting that game to be contender for GOTY, but I heard lots of good things about it and as for Smash, guess that game will have to wait for 2019 nomination.

LOL at the people expecting FH4 to be in the GOTY nomination. Forza is niche and so is the racing game genre. A racing game will never be in a GOTY nomination simply because most people don't play racing games and even when they do most people don't hold it up to the same standard that would do for a game like GOW or RDR2.

Interesting to see Sony dominate the GOTY contender list and nominations, this year was a really amazing year for them. It's one thing to get one of your exclusive games in a GOTY nomination but when you have two then you know you've really hit it out of the park. On top of that they are also leading in Award nominations with 8 awards, totally outstanding.

I hope NMS gets best on-going game. They have really done a lot with that game, it's a totally different game than what it was at launch and they still keep adding content to it and all for FREE unlike the other games on the nomination list.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance director got robbed for Game Direction. The man who has guts to face SJW.

Thronebreaker got robbed for best narrative.

FAR: Lone Sails and Chuchel got robbed for best art direction.

Oddmar and Grimvalor got robbed for best mobile game.

Warframe won the category last year so that's probably why it didn't get nominated again. I'm not sure what happened to PoE.

Best portrayal of a fictional island to the east of Cuba: Guarma, RDR2

Hottest western widow: Sadie Adler, RDR2

Best major character with TB: Arthur Morgan RDR2.

Overwatch won the category last year. Warframe and Path of Exile should definitely be here. They both provide a constant flow of high quality content, for free. They release updates that change the game in a pretty big way, whereas Overwatch releases 3 new heroes, 3 new maps and a few balance patchers.
