Many video games have really cheap bosses, especially in the fighting genre. So I ask, which fighting game bosses are the cheapest for you?

Here are mine:

Seth

The toughest SF boss without a doubt and boy does he outmatch Bison in Street Fighter II (Balrog in Japan) by a long shot.

Shao Kahn and Jun Kazama/Unknown (tie)

Okay, Shao Kahn making a cheap fighting game character list should come to no surprise, but I add the perk of tying him with Jun Kazama/Unknown in Tekken Tag 2 for the simple reason that their cheapness comes at pretty much a tie, much to the point where it inspired me to make another Tekken vs Mortal Kombat joke (since watching a fight scene in The Forbidden Kingdom at the final fight). Neither will not even give you a breather for as little as three seconds and strategy means little to nothing. These two I especially wonder how I ever beat on my first couple times playing.

Azazel

Good gracious! At least with the previous entries, you can at least try to beat in one sit through no matter how many times you fail, Azazel took me six-to-eight MONTHS to beat ever since I got Tekken 6 for Christmas this year. Only one chracter (Lei of course) in my time playing has ever beaten him in the regular fighting game modes (Scenario campaign is a whole different story).

What are yours?

Yeah his armor was such bullshit. Would just smash through hits that were supposed to stun him like nothing.

yea and he was pretty easy to beat. He fell for an easy pattern all you needed to know was at least a 5 hit combo to win and spam it.

Yeah, I was stuck with that Shao Khan fight for awhile. But I think the worst part of that fight, or alot of the difficult fights in that game was having to learn to adapt to using an unfamiliar character/moveset.

Also that boss in Skullgirls. Cant remember the name. But I remember how much health that thing had.

"Easy to beat" involved breaking the game and spamming ranged attacks or combos that cancelled his big moves. Compared to the rest of the AI characters you fight, he is cheaper than cheap.

A hell of a lot of the old King of Fighters bosses were cheap as hell. Zero was a great example of this.

Managed to beat the latest one with no problems.

I don't remember the names of the final bosses I've fought against in KOF but those guys.

The ones I do remember are Rugal B and Krizalid.

The thing I hate about characters like Seth, is that they are lazy. I think Bison is awesome, because he's his own character with his own moves and he's balanced and fair.

Seth is just a thing made up of others moves, it's just laziness personified.

I have never enjoyed a fighting game boss since Bison on Street Fighter 2 SNES. He was tough but fair.

I don't know why fighting devs think a cheap boss that breaks all the rules (unblockable attacks! undodgeable projectiles! can't be thrown! breaks out of combos!) are a good idea? It's like when a shooter gives me a goddamn quick time event for a final boss fight. Why have I played this entire damn game with a certain style of gameplay, and now you pull the rug out from under me and make me do something completely different?

EDIT: for those struggling with Tekken bosses, you really have to learn when to sidestep/crouch. Jinpachi's fireballs basically open him up for combos. Azazel has similar moves that turn him into a punching bag.

Only New Generation Gill is hard. The others (second impact and third strike) aren't as tough.

Karai from TMNT: Tournament Fighters.

Ivan Ooze from MMPR: The Fighting Edition.

Goodman from Neo Geo Battle Coliseum(arguably the cheapest boss by SNK).

Parace L'sia from Arcana Heart 2.

General from Kaiser Knuckle(arguably the cheapest fighting game boss)

Seth is annoying. He's super ramped up compared to how a regular user can play him. The last boss from The Last Blade 2 was a pain too.

Nobody here has played Dead Or Alive 4. That final boss(Alpha) was too annoying.

Jinpachi wasn't really bad. You could dodge his fireballs easily by side stepping azzazel was far worse.

He competes for that title closely with Magaki from KOF XI. Magaki has even more full screen knockdowns. Also, he frequently forces you to hop over his extremely fast fireballs, then does his full screen seraphic wing copy move, which comes out in 1 frame unlike seraphic wing from Gill. It's total BS.

General is a good pick. Did not remember him. Never had trouble with Arcana heart bosses here.

Played through the first Mega-Man collection recently, if it weren't for the emulator save function I probably wouldn't have bothered. If I had played these back in the NES days I'd of probably spit out strings of unintelligible profanities and need years of therapy. All those bosses are nasty.

Shao Khan is easy to beat once you know his patterns. He just spams powerful attacks, other fights in the story mode are much more difficult.

The end boss from DOA4 takes the cake for me. That was just stupid.
