Eh, Warzone hasn't been my jive for a while, simply because Arena is so good. REQ packs haven't imbalanced the game so far because they maintain nothing exclusive and the rewards from them are quite ubiquitous otherwise provided you play Warzone.

Splatoon still says $59.99 though. Ive checked every store i could find. I kid, its a great price.

While Splatoon is a highly creative and nice new take on the online TPS, it's not a better multiplayer game than Halo 5.

We know you don't do digital very offen and have a huge game collection that most hardcore gamers would die for.

Haha nice one, I'm sure no one in SW will disagree. Great game I still play regularly online and really looking forward to Firefight later on. Right now though I'm going through The Division.

That doesn't make it a better multiplayer game, awards don't provide entertainment, the amount of content, features, modes, entertainment value and things to do in Halo 5 dwarfs Splatoon by a ridiculous margin, and they're still adding more to it all the time, not to mention mechanically it's the most sound version of Halo to date.

Splatoon doesn't even have communication methods, it's a novel and great new shooting game but it's lacking in a lot of ways, something a sequel could and needs to improve upon.

@dynamitecop: Splatoon is adding stuff all the time too. Im just saying though, Splatoon won big. I know its all subjective, but Splatoon is my GOTY. Its also innovating and has awesome level design. And its doesnst need voice chat, i can play with people from Japan just fine.

I never bothered with the multiplayer of this, because Halo is about the most meh franchise there is out there, that I keep buying.

I'm not downplaying Splatoon, I just don't see it as competition for something of this magnitude, it's at this point surpassing Halo 2's multiplayer, that's a massive accomplishment.

Yeah, this gen it is Halo 5 and The Division as the top 2 online shooters. They are awesome.

Please it's a good FPS but not the best. Splatoon, Destiny, Battlefield, COD, and Borderlands are all better shooters.

even Destiny an almost 2 year old game, a game with no story and no private matches and zero content has more viewers on twitch stream than halo lel

@Heil68: Just want to point out, Splatoon won Shooter of the Year and Multiplayer Game of the Year from just about every outlet there is, beating Halo 5 out in the process. It has also sold more.

By any metric, Splatoon was a better multiplayer shooter than Halo 5- at least according to the metrics you use anyway ;)

Having sold more than Halo 5 is laughable if true, but I'd still rather play Halo 5 with voice with friends than even try Splatoon. Hell, I'd rather play KZ Shadowfall. A multiplayer game without voice is something I personally cannot get over. Even Black Ops 3 is enjoyable with friends, something that Splatoon will never be for me.

Dont care how good it is without out, bu bu bu you dont need it, all the excuses go by the wayside for me personally. Not buying it nor am I even going to rent it. I like conversing with friends while I play and I'm not using another service to make up for this basic feature of a MP game.

@Heil68: The lack of voice chat is a glaring issue, and it is not one that I have ever made any excuses for. It definitely sucks. I understand Nintendo wants to protect the kids, but maybe parental controlled voice chat, or voice chat that is off by default and needs to be switched on in the settings, would have been an acceptable solution. An option should have been given. The NX needs at least an OS level party solution, so even if games lack voice chat, players can work around and chat with friends.

That said, Splatoon is absolutely a great game that you should try. It's a fun, unique title unlike anything else on the market. And it definitely outdid Halo 5 in terms of sales and critical reception (by winning more awards), so really, it's a better game by any quantifiable metrics we can think of. Give it a go with an open mind, you'd like it.

I can understand protecting kids too, but that's a parent job and I do it with my kids. They dont play any MP games with random people. Nintendo is going to have to deal with that fact. I still shake my head at MK on the Wii and letting you pick phrases from a menu. How impersonal is that? I dont even know what MK on wiiU does, I'm assuming its similar.

But seriously, like last night playing Broforce with @getyeryayasout, the game itself wouldn't appeal to me on its own, but chatting while playing adds another component to the game and that is a good time talking with friends, laughing at each other deaths or coordinating attacks on bosses.

Anyway, I do understand the appeal of voice chat- like I said, I agree with you. But with that said, Splatoon is a game I highly recommend that you give a play through to.

We should play sometime! And it runs well enough to play, I think they may of patched it. The opening stutter seems to be gone? And it was "free" with PSN+ so I'm out nothing. We're going to start The Division too, so substitute that game then It runs great and @getyeryayasout is buying it. We just like to rotate games in and out and Broforce offers quick gameplay.

so having a voice does overcome gameplay sometimes and in this case we couldn't play Splatoon anyways because he doesn't own a WiiU, so your option is to not game with him at all? Interesting.

And if you read what I sad.. ANY game with chat> Splatoon because I enjoy talking to friends while we play.
