The 2022 best selling console in the UK was once again Nintendo Switch

Even though Nintendo Switch is super old now and a few gamers on the internet are crying for a new one ( ME ), the Nintendo Switch was still the most popular console of 2022 in the UK. And Pokemon Scarlet/Violet sales increased by 67% compared to Pokemon Diamond/Pearl thanks to high demand for a fresh Pokemon game to play. Nintendo had an amazing year in 2022 with tons of their games charting in the top 30 chart and digital copies werent even counted. And they didnt force gamers to buy their games like Sony did by only making budles with an increased price tag available. Talk about anti-consumer, thats some evil dictatorship dictating gamers purchases. Lets hope 2023 is an even bigger year than 2022 for Nintendo and that we get a Super Nintendo Switch in 2024. Game on gamers!

Good. Would be great to see a DF analysis where they're just "well, this game is simply not running on a Switch" while Nintendo released it for $60. X360 tech by 2025 would be sweet. Graphics are overhyped. Performance is overhyped. Tech in general is overhyped. Just give me games running in 16fps with OG xbox lighting and textures, and its fine.

Now that Switch as won Gen 9, it's time for their next console so they can win Gen 10.

Loll at bundles, there are lots of fools out there to buy something like that. When I buy ps5, the console better be at most $400 for disc version with 2 free games included. And no ASStro playground doesn't count.

Nintendo has absolutely zero reason to chase 4K or 120fps, but there is enough reason for them to keep pushing new hardware.

In other words: I have no doubt in my mind there will be a Switch 2.

You are right in that they eventually will push out something new, but lack of competition may not motivate them to do as much as they might have otherwise.

Look at mobile phones: new hardware every year but it's the exact same shitty games we had 20 years ago.

Though I feel that if Bayonetta and Tears of the Kingdom both launch as 20fps games... maybe their hardware is getting a bit long in the tooth.

That Violet and Scarlet Nintendo Dock looks awesome! I wouldn't pay more for it but it's still pretty cool.

As for Sony selling bundles, why does anyone care? If Sony were twisting peoples arms to buy it, then I could see them being in the wrong. It's not like Sony was the only one selling their console in bundles. Not to mention that you can simply sell the games upon purchase if you did in fact get a bundle off of their website. They're definitely not the worst offender in regards to this. I think I saw Newegg selling bundles for like $650+
