that's how Romance should be implemented in a game

Romance is one the options that has always been portrayed wrong in video games , while most developers only make cringy softcore porn , one developer succeeded to do it right.

so there's a mission in Divinity Original Sin 2 where you can flirt with of the NPC's in the Fort Joy called Butter , if you pick the right line and gain her trust she will betray her boss and aid you in the combat and that's how that's how it should be done

after all ... beauty is a powerful tool of persuasion

You can seduce the guy in fallout new vegas that shot you in the start of the game. That's some fucked up romance right there.

If you're looking for romance options in a game, you could just play a dating sim or visual novel. There are plenty that have well-written romance options.

Sure it does, especially for feminine protagonists.

I had(have) some dufus guy try(trying) to kill me. Whatd she say, again?(lol)

But, im sure this type of thing has been in a Rockstar game before. I find it hard to believe this is the first time its been in a game. Its rather typical. You think Command and Conquer started by the villian wanting more tiberiam? Of course not!

@evil_loli: zzzzzzzzzzz

You're just saying that because you're super masculine and get all the romance you need in real life. The rest of us losers have to make do with the romance we get in video games.

That's not really any better of an example, and paper thin at best. Like oh my god I'm kind of into you, let me betray a lot of the stuff I believe in because **** it, lets get this dick!!

Plenty of developers have written good, flirty relationships. The Witcher series has done a fantastic job between Geralt n Triss, and Geralt n Yenn. Albeit with different vibes for both of em. Naughty Dog has done a solid job with how Elena and Nathan converse with each other. It's not particularly great consistently, but yall wouldn't know that anyway since yah don't fucking read or watch actual good movies. Can't help the stupid, namasayin.

@ghosts4ever: Well, as long as romance is only an optional side-quest and doesn't affect gameplay much, like in Mass Effect or Fallout, I don't think that anyone could see a problem with it. If you don't like the kinky stuff, just avoid the kinky dialogue lines.

Personally I love the romance found in games like Witcher, Mass Effect, Fallout etc., being the old pervert that I am.

you forgot about Assassin Creed: Odyssey.

Will Ubisoft do the same thing in their next game?

I think Steins; Gate is the only game where I genuinely thought a romance was well written. I didn't even like Kurisu in the beginning since she reminded me way too much of girls that I know and have worked with, but boy did she win me over.
