something tells me that they're going to do the same thing that they did with GTAV , releasing RDR2 remaster version on PC along with PS5 and the next Xbox console ...

----------------

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/take-two-ceo-says-there-is-no-downside-to-releasin/1100-6467454/

----------------

Red Dead Redemption 2 is rumored to, at some point in the future, release on PC. Nothing is confirmed at this stage. Developer Rockstar Games has made no announcements, and neither has parent company Take-Two. Despite that, evidence continues to mount for the acclaimed western releasing on PC.

Speaking at an investor briefing this week in New York City, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick responded to the assertion that launching Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC would be a "layup." That's a basketball metaphor for something very easy to do.

Zelnick succinctly responded, "There is no downside to releasing the game on PC."

That's all he had to say on the subject. His response is interesting and noteworthy, however. Zelnick is asked regularly about bringing Red Dead Redemption 2 to PC, and up until now, his public response had been that he would let Rockstar speak for itself. Zelnick is confirming nothing with his new statement, but it is a notable change of form for the executive.

Once the console's money-well dries up, they'll port this to PC, no doubt.

Even if Rockstars announces PC version like sooner then later, I'll still wait for GOTY Edition but in another way, if Rockstars announces GOTY for the PS4 version, I'll get that instead of PC. I have no issue playing it on console but I sure as hell won't give Rockstars my money until everything is on the game, DLC everything in one price.

What you should study is what time was needed between the announcement of PC release and the actual release and if Rockstar announced the PC version, alot of people wouldn't have bought the console version, they would just wait. I find it odd Epic has been quite though cause it was rumor it'll be Epic exclusive but knowing Rockstar, they want to make as much money as they can.

I hope they fix their pre-order/version nonsense.

So, an improved RDR2 on next gen consoles, followed by a PC release.

It worked for GTA V, so why not?

Hermits will have to keep waiting to play the 97/100 GOTG masterpiece. In the meantime they can keep calling us "beta testers" to make themselves feel better while they pay to play a bunch of early access indie garbage lol

You're looking at its marketing/political score. The game got around an 80/100 by gamers, which is a lot but probably not a GOTG. I do expect the PC version to score higher.

That's cool and all, but PC gamers don't need ports of slow paced, clunky, cinematic console games. They have better games.

It does feel like that, waiting for RDR 2 and Spyro: Year of the dragon.

Anytime now ... they are gonna announce it :P

But even if there is the smallest of chance they end up on PC (RDR2 runs on an engine that easily ported to PC, Crash got a PC port), I just don't see myself buying the Xbone or PS4 versions.

Out of principle, I still haven't bought or played GTAV and I doubt I ever will. They can keep this one too for all I care.

Man, I have a console and I'll wait. From what I hear about this game, it doesn't sound like it's worth buying twice.

Truer words were never said, my friend. They're being ripped off by scams like Star Citizen and we are the beta testers, right?

THHBO LMAO.

PS5 is probably fall/winter 2020 is my best guess. But wouldn't a PS5 remaster be a tough sell when PS5 having backwards compatibility?

@davillain-: Red Dead Redemption 2 released in October 2018. By late 2020 I'm pretty sure no one will care anymore. Also will be a hard sell due BC like you said

By then everyone will have played it already. They'll still be able to play it on next gen hardware due to backwards compatability. And the PS4/XB1 versions will undoubtedly be cheaper because used copies will be everywhere. Nobody will be thinking about RDR2 then. People buy next gen hardware to play new games

Well of course there’s no downside, GTA V has proven that and there’s no reason why they wouldn’t do the same thing with RDR 2. This really should be a surprise to no one.

Indie Garbage? PC got the most AAA/AA budget titles this gen due to "MSExclusives" and "Console Exclusives", on top of it's own exclusives, streaming, and emulation. All while playing the by far best version of 90%+ of video games and being the only place for serious online.

Please continue to beta test RDR2 while PC enjoys its 100+ high scoring games lead over PS4.

Hopefully they add fun gameplay j/k but seriously it would be nice to have more fast travel areas. I don't know if I would play this game again it was kind of exhausting at times. But playing it on the PC for me with mouse and keyboard would probably make this game feel less clunky and 60 fps will be a nice addition.
