Really like Doom 64, it's map design is closer to Ultimate Dooms. Doom II's map design is all over the place.

Pretty interesting art-style/soundtrack as well, feels closer to Quake, except not literally everything is brown.

Doom 2's tool set n enemies are still better than what 64 offers, and Romero's levels are a class above anything in that game. But Sandy Peterson levels are a fucking warcrime.

Doom 2 Wads tho are on another level. 64 secretly the actual only good n64 FPS, but still baby game.

See, that's some cool shit right there. I played that section last night, and had none of those tools tho lol.

Ng+ will be an even bigger deal for this game than it was for Doom 4. I'm enjoying the game for sure, but feeling handcuffed at the moment.

Apparently Picard wholeheartedly just rips off the plotline from Mass Effect.

Which is funny, because Star Trek: Discovery ripped off the story from a indie game.

This is why we can’t have real gameplay Conan. Goons are allergic to how an entire set of decisions work. This is why fighting games will never be big. Too much thinking.

Guns are all weak sounding and feeling and the combat itself is overly restrictive(gimped movement from one n 2) n less intense (less enemies on screen or at once), it’s mostly played in tight corridors with little more than just mindless mowing down with no reason to work for position or any sauce to make up for the lack of challenge.

It’s a brain dead game, it’s not scary enough to satiate as a horror title and as an action title it’s bland. Resurrection of Evil is better but still bad.

It’s better than a non game I guess, but that’s not a high bar. As flawed as Doom 4 is, it’s a significantly better feeling game and more fun to sauce game.

Doom 3 is the basic bitch mediocre white man energy game. No seasoning in the food energy. Well done steak with ketchup energy.

Tho that seems to be a fighting game wide ting.

Glory kills in doom however can be sped up, give the player a speed boost+their movement options+health drops, the player can be hit during glory kills and eat fat damage for them make them a medium risk-low reward play to justify keeping the player in constant action.

Was less effectively used in doom 4 where the games enemies can’t deal with a handful of strong options that allows one to circle strafe most of the arenas to death with no penalty, but in doom 5 with less ammo, and enemies that can attack different spaces n pair better goons about to learn some shit.

The DS9 pilot is far better than I remember, it was never "bad", but never really thought of it as great. With hindsight does a fantastic job of setting up the series. Picards one and only guest appearance is integral to the plot without vapid pandering shit like Q, Barclay or Deanna Troi's appearance on that other, vastly inferior show. In short, it's really fucking good, great even.

I wouldn't say I'm quarantine, but I still leave the house and go to work & comeback straight home, that's about it. In the meantime, I'll just catch up to my backlog and try to get back into Anime like My Hero Academia cause I went on hiatus.

We're not in quarantine here in Australia (yet) and Rugby League is still pushing forward while every other sport around the world has pulled the pin. So I will have that to watch for the time being.

lol one of the complaints I've seen going around is actually "too much shit you can do" basically.

I can see how it could be overwhelming at first, especially if you're not used to deeper action based games. But it's not like they arbitrarily threw in a bunch of redundant tools here, it all has purpose. Worst I can say is that the balancing act felt "forced" initially, but once your toolset opens up and they pit you against some wild encounters in equally wild spaces it's like holy shit bro... who wouldn't want all these options?

Definitely gonna give the game more staying power as well. Took a break from the main game last night (think I'm on mission 9 or 10) to replay earlier missions, was like playing a different game.

Also Goobers: I am not playing on Nightmare, but hurt me plenty instead.

Not your point here, but I chose to roll with UV first and glad I did, holy shit man. I swear UV in this game feels way harder than Nightmare in Doom 4. Had a couple of Father Gascoigne moments along the way. Will step it up to Nightmare next, but that would've been a crazy first playthough.

Also, master levels. Started in on the first one, fucking good sheet.

Picards story was done in All Good things, it really was as peak as you can get for ending with everything afterwords just, bad.

I would have been more interesting in seeing what happened after DS9, that was left way more up in the air and ambiguous

Even stuff like Jem'Hadar, bred for like 5 years specifically to murder shit on a drug addiction, or the Vorta who have a deity like dedication to the changlings. Or Cardassia after it's (through natural developed conclusion rather than mcguffin) been fucked up. Fucking, Changlings and there point of view on solids now, or specific characters like Jake Sisko waiting on his father or Garak back on Cardassia. Kira Nerys on Bajor or everyones fav janitor Chief O'brien.

But that would require quality writing, which for about two plus decades seems to be a very, very simple concept that's completely alluded the franchise. They'd just shit on it all with their edgy new low quality take that bears almost no resemblance.

They are extra annoying in MK, because there are other cinematic breaks in the action as well, and the game already is doofy for all the other reasons. The slowed down over produced nature of the supers only adds to it.

Having a powerful flashy move is nice n all, but there is something really nice about older fighting games like kof 98, alpha 2, guilty gear plus R n the like where the supers are just a quick move, and actually had more utility than just combo finisher or raw reversal.

I actually think Doom 5 seems better suited towards crushing people's bad habits from Doom 4. Doom 4 is kind of like Dark Souls 1 in that while the game is good, there is plenty of cheese. Again with the drawback being that Doom 4 isn't that much on the sauce.

Doom 5 also apparently probably should have told people that the last pip of the chainsaw always regenerates, so it always has fuel. So you always have a way to get ammo. I think its funny that they actually made an action game, that's made for the assholes who play on hard and **** me the difficulty setting lol. Because Doom 5's improvements are all gear towards those kind of people.

Imagine if Japanese action games were designed this way? Devil May Cry would have enemies as savage as Ninja Gaiden lol

Literally, I've only found myself in one situation where this fell through. Was completely out of ammo in a room with a hell knight, no fodder demons around, and only one bar on the chainsaw which isn't enough to slice open said hell knight. Had no option, though I can't imagine that being a regular thing for anyone.

lol yeah it's fuckin nuts man. Actually does feel a lot like Ninja Gaiden when things get thick.

It's a tough game even on UV. As in I'm thinking about backtracking to easier encounters through mission select, just to get some of the mastery challenge unlocks for some of my weapons.

I know they tell you, but they tell you if you kill all 3 demons. I imagine a lot of people skipped the tutorial or just killed one n moved on. Which I also think is funny because people hate the heavy tutorialization, but then are crying foul about ammo and forgot their chainsaw auto regens lol

From my understanding zombies are always spawning so long as bigger demons are in the room? Nightmare only thing maybe? seems weird, because I think they are there to validate the ammo count.

They just sounded weak actually, but they are fun to use as gunplay was fantastic. I like the lighting effect in Doom 3. its like no other game done it before. Its a quality horror action FPS. the flashlight mechanic was awesome and give you suspense.

They were not fun to use. NO one said anything about the flashlight shit, but that's a one dimensional element of the game overall. 2004 isn't in the running, but I did spend a lot of time in Unreal 2k4 and Halo 2 that year. Multiplayer FPS still the king.

They just sounded weak actually, but they are fun to use as gunplay was fantastic. I like the lighting effect in Doom 3. its like no other game done it before. Its a quality horror action FPS. the flashlight mechanic was awesome and give you suspense.

infact it was Doom 3 along with Halflife 2 that made 2004 one of the best year in gaming ever.

They were not fun to use. NO one said anything about the flashlight shit, but that's a one dimensional element of the game overall. 2004 isn't in the running, but I did spend a lot of time in Unreal 2k4 and Halo 2 that year. Multiplayer FPS still the king.

Halo 2 was inferior Halo CE actually.

Yes, it is actually one of the worst things to happen to the genre, because in Halo 1 you can actually reliably dodge projectiles and play a proper FPS with long term consequences with health and short term reliability of a shield. But Halo 2's enemies shoot significantly faster projectiles (borderline hitscan territory), so had to be regenerating health, and well the rest is history.

But while Halo's impact is negative, Halo 2's multiplayer is ace as ****. Some of the best designed multiplayer maps in any game, ever. With a core set of combat loops that are still engaging, even if its mostly baby Unreal n Tribes, but still had some added depth thanks to shit like bxb, bxr, and quad shots n such.

The 00s, even the games that caused the bad trends were good fucking games. This past decade all the trend setters were a disease outside of Dark Souls n Minecraft I guess.

Those post-pilot, 4-5 episodes DS9 are fairly bad.

Also Defiant was the most awsome (ness) ship, space Lamborghini with rockets.

Changed size and design randomly. Kinda wish didn't know this now, because consciously look for it.
