Just picked up the switch pro controller and gotta say, I'm highly impressed. It's similar to the 360 controller with a better d-pad, 40 hr battery life, optional motion controls, very ergonomic and comfortable. I like it better than the standard ps4 and xbone controller tbh. Anybody feel the same way?

Agree, it's probably the best controller ever made. But It has a HUGE problem, the triggers pretty much guaranteed that the switch will never see a good racing car sim.

No way, it's overpriced trash. The Xbox controller is much better.

Not everyone cares about happy meal toys reader or gyro functionalities.

Somebody looks salty because their controller still takes AA batteries to operate lol. But I agree with you OP, the pro controller is pretty darn good .

@daredevils2k: Why would anyone be salty about AA batteries? It remains the only way to have a truly wireless controller. 40 hrs is nothing compared to never having to plug in your controller.

Ugh the Elite is so bad. The internet is riddled with its horror stories. Even XB1 controllers don't work half the time. Those controllers should be DQ.

The Pro Controller is definitely great but I prefer the PS4 controller by a large margin. The Pro beats the PS4 controller in battery life hands down though.

I agree with the op. It has become my favorite controller ever. Funny how they went from wiimotes to dominating controllers again. They had it in them all along lol.

I have still yet to play a game that has HD rumble.

They all seem to be normal rumble so far (Not played 1-2 Switch yet).

Prefer the feel of the ps4 controller but its battery life is definitely destroyed by Switch's pro controller.

The wii U and switch pro controllers are both pretty impressive, I just wish they were the main controllers for the systems and came with the system as well.

I've yet to use it, but i'm sure i'll still prefer my Elite controller. It does look nice, and I do find the Joycon a little on the small side, but that price also makes me want to wait a week or two before picking it up.

I haven't used it yet so I can't make a judgement on it but the asymmetrical layout of the analog sticks is already a plus in my book. Currently though my favourite controller is the Xbox One because of the stick placement, solid weighty feel, and the triggers feel great especially for shooters and racers.

WOW I never knew how clueless some of these so called GAMERS are! You do know that most people don't game 40 hours straight and most gamers that doesn't use tech thats from 2005 charge their controllers when they are either sleeping, working, going to school etc, but then again you wouldn't have known that because you're use to swapping out your Double A's as if your stuck in 2005.

The only neutral here, being more of a PS supporter i can still admit the Elite controller is hands down the best controller. I'll be honest it was beautiful in grip, weight, buttons, triggers, the fucking whole lot.

I actually prefer Xbox Elite Controller only because I use it on my PC way more so just about any genre other then FPS/RTS, it's KB/M from there. My daughter uses the Switch Pro that I got for her, she uses it at home the most and doesn't bother to take it with her when out of the house. Me, I didn't bother to buy one cause I adapted to the Switch controller myself and didn't feel like spending $70 again.

Xbox Elite>Switch Pro>DS4.

I love how lems are calling the pro controller overpriced (which it is) but they have no problem paying an extra $50 for the Xbox elite controller. Lem logic :/

Another advantage is that: It is far more durable than an Xbone and PS4 controller.

The PS4 controller breaks easily and the Xbone controller is only slightly more durable.

The Switch controller can take a pounding and still work.

Good, but lacking. Still prefer either X1 or DS4.

Personally I quite liked what the Wii U Pro had going on in terms of ergonomics and part selection, minus the stick placement and triggers.

@Fairmonkey: The Dualshock 4 has everything you said about the Switch controller, including the optional motion controls, except for the 40 hours battery life. If that's true about the battery life, then that one thing is better about the Switch controller.

It's great, but having digital triggers is a huge WTF. It's not nearly as bad as the Xbox One's original shoulder button design, but still. Bit by bit, the PS4 may not have the best of every part, but has no huge glaring faults either (perhaps battery life, but that impacts length of use, not use itself)..

The battery life is absolutely the major flaw with the DS4

The Switch battery life is better, as are the ergonomics, rumble, and just general overall build quality

The catch is, the battery can be charged and the controller can be plugged into just about any power source (I've used my phone charger that's right by my chair), there's no way to make the Switch Pro controller's triggers analog and that directly impacts the possibility of control for games.

@asylumni: While fair, I have thus far not actually encountered a situation where I found the triggers wanting (while the DS4 battery has actively impeded my enjoyment of the system).

Objectively the triggers are absolutely a flaw, however.

Way to be condescending there bro. Tone it down a bit. No need to get all salty bud.

Can you physically remove the battery from the pro controller, or is it like the DS4?
