so PS4 has not sold 1 million there yet. but the total sold is more than switch. but then ps4 has been out for years. official numbers are not known for ps4. Switch is off to a strong start.

the DS was the best selling system ever there. DS released in 2005. by dec 2007 it had passed 1 million units there.

only the wii/ps2/DS have passed a million in south korea

I'm way to naive on the South Korean game market, other than they love PC there. What do those numbers mean for the Switch in South Korea?

The link shows some nice video game displays compared to the chaotic messes we have here.

What KBFloYd doesn't tell you that the Switch only just launched in Korea on December 1st. Over 110K sales the first month in a country with less than half the population of Japan isn’t too bad at all :)

But still, it's a new next-gen console, it's expected to sell hot cakes everywhere in the world so this doesn't surprise me. Kudos to Nintendo on this amazing achievement making a better fun console.

Given it's System Wars and damn near everyone has a label based on which platform/company they prefer, you figure it out.

@funsohng knows the market better, he stated that they loved the PSP and Vita which explains why the DJ Max series was spawned for Sony. Majority do prefer gaming on the go, and Nintendo used to push their handhelds well until they just made it as a Pokemon machine only. I'm really am hoping for Nintendo of Korea take notice and push the Switch hard.

Also, while South Korea do enjoy PC gaming, majority of the population do not own a gaming PC or could afford it, so they spend majority of the time in PC Cafes. Hence the popularity of mobile gaming. I could say that Nintendo can get sales in China as well due to them also preferring mobile gaming, but it's an issue of Nintendo titles having to be evaluated by the Chinese Government, which is why the launch for the Switch is at 2019

I knew we had good taste. ;)

Really though it's nice that consoles can do somewhat well over there too, especially when its heavily PC land. Every little bit counts for sales.

I wonder if any Korean mobile games will get ported to the Switch that would help greatly with its sales.

Why are so many people angry about the article? The angry face has 20 votes XD 10 happy faces and 1 in love face. I wonder if that is normal for a Korean article.

OK I tried reading it. Apparently Korea doesn't get online store or online services at all from Nintendo and that is why they are salty.

They don't get Korean localization of games either (they have to play in English).

I'm guessing there is a bunch of bilingual Korean gamers that love Nintendo games otherwise its amazing that this device even managed to sell 110k thousand in a month.

So South Koreans like their PCs and Switch. I must say their taste in game systems is excellent.
