switch game - ARMS is a flop? ...npd games top 10 (zelda#2 of 2017)

Switch has sold a lot more than that. It was around 1 million in Japan and 1.5 million in NA . That's about 2.5 , and then there's the rest of the world's sales on top of that.

Not really a flop. Nintendo themselves always have a low, cost effective development and marketing budget. Majority of their game do not require a million units to turn a hefty profit.

I'm confident enough that Nintendo is already turning in a profit with ARMs, even with a quarter of a million units sold in the US

Dont downgrade ARMS as a skullgirls game. ARMS got both marketing and hype behind it, Skullgirls not. So no excuses if its a fighting game or not.

For a new IP and the Switch having such few consoles out that's not bad.

But I don't see it continuing to sell over the consoles lifetime like other Nintendo games.

Also have to take into account the current Switch owners are most likely the most loyal to Nintendo and thus most likely to purchase a new game like arms from them.

ARMS has been fun and it could definitely use some more content

Arms is selling well. Not sure what the confusion is on that. Has there been a better launch for a new Nintendo IP in recent years, other than Splatoon, which launched on a console with a much bigger install base?

It's a good game, but there's a lot to be desired for this title.

I have about the same feelings for ARMS as I did with the first Splatoon. So with that said, I hope ARMS 2 will be amazing.
