To digress, for EU Wii U owners, you can get American versions on N64 games on it, so running at the original 60Hz instead or the slower 50Hz. And Star Fox 64 has Rumble instead of the Wiis Lylat Wars that didn't. Much better. Always wanted 60Hz N64 games. Also considering RARE has allowed DK64, maybe they'll allow DKR as well. Considering MS is open to having their games on other platforms like Minecraft and with Nintendo, it could happen.

I was finally able to download Splatoon 2 this morning. Hopefully I'm able to play it this evening.

Amazon is allegedly delivering my copy today.

I always go physical. Preserves the resell option, which can be lucrative for Nintendo games. I sold some Wii U games on ebay recently for above sticker price.

Amazon has fudged every switch release so far. I switched over to the best buy gamers club and just do a pick up on release day. Easier, less annoyance, and a great discount with better perks.

I'm trying to pick mine up today, I didn't preorder so I hope I don't get screwed.

Gonna go pick up 2 physical copies for me and my daughter right after work. When it comes to Nintendo console games, I always go with physical anyways.

The launch of the game has resulted in more Switch's being in stock on Amazon Canada too. I have already pre-ordered and cancelled my order twice since launch. I won't put Amazon through that a third time lol.

Fortunately, the online play itself is completely stable. I haven't had a single noticeable moment of lag all night.

Oh Nintendo... This wouldn't be an issue on PSN or XBL.

It's great that demand is high, it means the series is a legit hit with fanbase and it'll be a long lasting IP (hopefully). On the downside, Nintendo also showing that they learned exactly nothing with the WiiU in terms of online skills. Ah well, gotta Nintendo it up somehow I guess.

Online problems and shortages are their longest running and most successful IP.

Got the physical version, when I could find it. Most places I went where either out of stock, or looked at me like I was speaking an Alien language.

Yeah, I have GCU at Best Buy. I use it sometimes for games, but mostly for Amiibo. I will never buy another physical Switch games because having to carry around games sort of ruins the portability. Shooters and 3rd party Xbox One and PS4 games I will buy physical if I think there is a chance I may end up reselling it.

However, it is possible for retailers/etailers to struggle filling digital downloads if they run out of keys to send out

Didn't know it was possible to not have enough digital stock to meet demand.

I ran into this problem last night. It took me about 45 minutes to finally get past all the site crashes to complete my purchase and download the game. Pretty frustrating stuff!

To me this seems to show their online services in a poor light then anything else really.

Anyway I prefer to get my games on physical format.

I got my copy today at Bestbuy. But the new Splatoon Amiibos were sold out. Will have to find later.

This has happened to steam and sony before.

it wouldn't be Nintendo if it wasn't hard to get =P
