i dont think gamespot will be able to give a AAA VC game. I mean after all, A link to the past had no "the bad" part. By their reviewing system, i think it may be impossible.
Its stupid to re review old games. You have to compare them to what was out at the time. They must make it clear that it is being reviewed to 2007 standards.
Thats like comparing a ford model t to a 2007 bmw. Its just not fair.

No it isn't. Game design is an art, the programming part is similar to the cars. So, while the game may have been built on methods that would be awful today, the art still stands up. It's more like comparing Shakespeare to Orwell or Bach to The Beatles.

Super Metroid has a high chance. Still to this day is amazing. Get real man, i know oldschool games have a nice place in the heart of many gamers. I also liked supermariobros 3, mario world, snes squaresoft games (FF, secret of mana 1/2, chrono trigger) etc. etc. But saying its still amazing to this day is a bit extreme. Its still quite fun to play when i am bored but nothing amazing.

Super Metroid is astounding. Almost ever week, I pick the game back up again and run through it, usually in under and hour [game time].
From the graphics, to the sound, to the music, to the enemies, to the bosses, to the areas, to the glitches that actually ENHANCE gameplay... the game just continues to impress me to this very day [as if I have not said that enough].
If Gamespot does not give it AAA... I will... you know... I really could not tell you what I would do... :|

Then you either have never played it, or have some jaded sense of what a good game is. I still play it more than any other game I own. It really has not aged...

I would call Final Fantasy 4 AAA it is my favorite FF game
No Virtual Console game is ever going to get Editor's Choice because that would be fluke-y. I just think that people here are upset at Gamespot reviewing Virtual Console games because they seem to get a lower score and bring down the Wii game score average. I don't mind; it helps to figure out which VC games are crud. But I've changed my standards. While I consider anything below 8.0 not worth buying for normal games, I lowered that to 7.0 for VC games.

for me they are amazing. i was young/ not born when some NES games came out and i didnt really choose games i wanted until n64 (as in i didnt reallly know the variety's out there) playing Gunstar Heroes was amazing and frustrating cause some boss battles took determination and button mashing and prediction powers that i have never really tried before. i like it and i was amazed at the first few moments i played (but not too long cause the game was short)

I enjoy seeing old games rated for the same reason you wish them to not be rated.
I find it rather interesting to see how games from previous generations score with today's standards. I look forward to the reviews of these games just as much, if not more than reviews from modern games.
