2 - Why hype the game on a board that goes out of its way to ignore Nintendo?

The game could get 10/10's across the board for all I care - it's just not a game that appeals to me.

IGN always automatically gives every Mario/Zelda/smash a 9.5+ even though the games have massive flaws and tend to suck.

I'm getting it. This time around, I will give level-making a go. I didn't create any levels on the first SMM, but I had a lot of fun playing other people's levels. Some of them were brilliant.

Yea no joke, I see Nintendo topics quite regularly around here. It's not generally in the Cows vs. Lems war around here but Nintendo is certainly not ignored. And I am entitled to not be interested in a game and not be dictated by a review score. I am not into create level games and I don't have Switch online, so many of the main features would not appeal to me anyways.

Super Mario Maker 2 is my most anticipated game in a long time. I loved the first one, and this one is looking even better. I follow and watch a lot of youtube creators and play and make Super Expert levels. Kaizo tricks are very difficult, but I have spent some time on them. I'm not in the very top elite tier on the first game, but I plan to try to be near the top on this game (I am going to try to be in the top 10% on the leaderboards). I didn't pre-order the game because my local Gamestop and others around weren't having a midnight release, so I said screw it... I'll be at Walmart at 11 pm to pick up a copy. You better believe I'll be asking someone to go to the back and get me a copy if it isn't in the case yet.. lol. The first thing I will do is start off by playing the 100 plus levels in the campaign.

"I'm getting this day one" but not for me, my daughter has been hype for Mario Maker 2 cause she loves the first one, so I'll be getting this for her and I already played Mario Maker and that's good enough for me, so this is a pass on me.

I'll pass. Loved odyssey and the 2d levels were fun but I wouldn't want a whole game on it.

This is the game that I wanted most this generation (aside from Hytale of course) so i'm excited to make some levels. I already have it ready to go on Switch.

Same. Only problem is, it'll have to contend with FFXIV: Shadowbringers for playtime, and it will probably lose each and every time.

Links for ease and example in USA/EU regions. There are probably more brandnames making the same stylises. They have a disc shaped tip that is very nice and precise for creating levels. The other tip is good too. I use a glass screen protector but I think they are fine without a protector too. (Especially the filt tip should be fine, and won't drag as much as rubbery tips.)

Even the users are rating it highly. So I think even gamers can't be trusted. Maybe... maybe nobody can be trusted to rate Nintendo games in general because they're all giving them such high scores! :o

(I even heard my sister say the other day, that the game could be good. I think she is being paid by Nintendo because she is suddenly buying Nintendo things.)

Once again Nintendo forces high-scores by releasing great games. They should be ashamed of manipulating people this way!

Knowing how devoted the base for Metroid and Zelda, I am surprised that there is nothing for them like Super Mario Maker. Imagine a custom dungeon based on the Breath of the Wind.

The first one was great! I only messed around a bit with a few level designs but played other people’s levels a ton! This one looks even better so I’m definitely gonna give it a go.

They are. Unlike other companies where they use a new name in the box but the game is the same.

Pass for me, not interested in creating my own Mario levels or playing user created junk. But my Switch does need some love, might pick up Katamari Re-Roll.

I have other things to do and Mario Maker 2 is a nice distraction so she won't bother me that much ;)

I was not initially interested in the game but after reading that there is a single player mode with 100 or so levels I am definitely picking this up eventually. I am not nearly creative enough to make my own levels but I will play the single player mode and then it will probably be a fun game to have around to try random mario levels when I'm bored and dont want to get too deep into a game.

You have to pay a subscription to play custom levels that other people build, so I'll be sticking with the Wii U version.

New games aren't solely defined by mechanical ingenuity.

Because paying 20 bucks a year just to be allowed to enjoy my games sounds pretty stupid to me.

If I would own a switch I would stick to games that allow me to enjoy them without having to pay a subscription. So yeah, Mario Maker is one I'm skipping.

Good news coming up early in the U.K. where Super Mario Maker 2 is #1 on that country's chart. Unrelated, Bloodstained sold for the Switch more copies in its first week than the PS4 and Xbox One copies combined.
