Super Mario Bros Movie - $1 billion!!

Meh. I will watch it at some point when it releases for home.

Yes, this movie will be the greatest movie ever. Even better than titanic, or godfather. Its going to win all the Oscar's.

But lucky for Nintendo, halo doesn't have a movie. Otherwise nothing would beat halo.

I just wait for home video for stuff I wanna see. Movies are $20+ per ticket where I live and that's before auditorium type upcharges. Stuff comes to home video and VOD in no time these days. Cocain Bear came lightning quick. Hopefully John Wick 4 doesn't take much longer.

I'm amped. Gonna check it with my little boy. For some reason haven't felt giddy like this about Mario in a long time.

Nahh even though it looks pretty decent, I ain’t a huge Mario fan when it comes to the characters/world he lives in… will probably see it once it hit the streaming channels though

Disappointing that no one here in system war users isn't a moviegoer other than me I guess. I'm not hyped for the Super Mario Bros. movie but I am gonna go see it day one nonetheless. I'll see it this Friday of course.

Not me personally. I'm not really a Mario fan and I'm not the target demographic anyway.

As I am never a fan of watching films in theaters, I will be watching the film at home on Blu-Ray or streaming. I liked the world of Super Mario and have played ever mainline Super Mario game since Super Mario Bros. on the NES.

The odds are extremely low that I see this movie. I don't really watch any movies, so me finding my way in front of this movie would be like a clockwork orange eyelids pinned open type of scenario.

I Love movie popcorn though... I make my kids buy it for me and bring it home when they go. Lol

Haven't been to a theater since 2017, a Mario movie isn't gonna be the one to pull me in lol.

I'll watch it eventually though. Big budget animation for a Nintendo IP is the most no brainer shit ever, surprised we didn't have this years ago.

My question is, how good will the movie be able to stand on its own two feet? I am seeing a lot of praise over easter eggs. But how fun would the movie be for someone who has never played a Mario game?

I remember seeing a lot of praise from Warcraft fans of the Warcraft movie, but for someone who hasn't played it. The movie did NOTHING to make me care for its world or the charactrers who inhabit it. (which is also a good reason why the movie was panned).

Will we see a similar situation here where someone who doesnt play the games wont find the movie relatable to say the least?

Of course I'm gonna see it. I'm gonna ride in on my Yoshi and throw shells at people's heads during the entire runtime.

Maybe the Switch 2 will have such graphics 😮

My wife and I took Friday off and are taking the kids to an early show. My nephews and niece are going too. We love us some Mario.

My wife and I are popcorn enthusiasts too. If I’m ever able to replicate theater popcorn at home, I’ll never go to a theater again. I’ll also be 400 pounds

It’ll be a smash hit. Looks too good from what I’ve seen to fail. I’m predicting high 80’s to low 90’s.

lol dat superior Nintendo quality. All they've been releasing is shovelware, and now even in cinema.

Sonic movies were really awesome and I'll be surprised if Super Mario movie can surpass Sonic.

I was kind of always expecting a middling kids movie on par with the sonic movies so no real surprise here.

It seems my initial expectations were right. It would be a mediocre movie carried only by easter eggs and fan service. And Jack Black's performance.

Looks like it's getting a lot of bad reviews. Gamespot however gave it an eight.

Not here for Jack Black but Seth Rogen as DK has really sold me. Jack Black can't hold a candle to Seth Rogen.
