So, summer may be the day we should go outside. Not me. I hate the summer heat, and I grew up in the desert. That said, what are some fitting games you think match the season?

For me...

Hydro Thunder Hurricane - A game I'm playing right now. Man, we need more arcade racers, which makes me glad Cruis'n Blast exists as a console port on Switch. But anyway, can't get more summer than watersports.

Red Dead Redemption - No I have not played 2 that much. But the old west setting just matches.

I recently bought Infernax, to help me deal with my COVID related pains.

After that I think Splatoon 3. And I will see what games are on sale, maybe Steam will put something good on sale.

This is enough for me and my body. Me and Elden Ring we're getting married later in the year. You're not invited, TC.

Probably not exactly “fitting” for the season but my summer gaming will consist mainly of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. 😎

I never thought of gaming an summer really having any thematic releases just the kickoff in June with E3 and TGS toward end of summer. If anything feels seasonally appropriate it is usually horror games in October.

Golf. Basically you take this really tiny plastic ball and put it on a lawn, then you hit is really far with these weird looking sticks that have a paddle on the end (a small paddle). Now, here's the trick! You have to hit this ball like a few hundred yards (it's OK if it takes you a few hits) only to get it into this tiny hole on another lawn. Great game to play outside.

Oh, did you mean video games?

Hmmm...what are some summery video games?

Maybe Abzu? That's basically all about swimming.

Far Cry 3? Lots of sunshine in that one.

Tropico? Nothing like building a Cuba-like paradise in the summery tropicsal islands.

Yeah I was drawing a complete blank on "summer" games, but it's easy to pick games for Halloween haha. Plenty of horror games.

Summertime can only mean one thing. Shark week is coming and for that, I'll play Maneater as my summer vibe. I would add Jaws: Unleashed but I can only play it through PS2. That game needs a remake IMO.

Slowly but surely completing AC Odyssey. It's gotten to be very repetitive, but it's still oddly satisfying to play in regards to the combat.

Updates to Warhammer 3 TW came out (@musicalmac) as well, so I plan on jumping back into that to see how that is holding up, especially with their new units/content.

I've found that with the sport of golf, always begin well and end less than well -- but that may due to the soberness at the beginning being 0...

@Stevo_the_gamer: Yeah I remember reading a Standford study where as soberness approaches about 0.4 you reach peak golf capability, but then it goes to hell when soberness is <0.3 or >0.7.

For me, that's about one beer every 3-4 holes.

On-topic: I've been holding off on playing Total War as well, what updates did they add? I stopped playing when I went into the lands of Chaos and saw how much crap I had to do and how unfair it was lol.

ooooooh Maneater! Forgot about that one.

Played it for like 20 minutes, stopped because I had other games to play, but I thought it was fun.

THAT is a summer game if there ever was one.

Mario Sunshine! 😱

Nah, never thought of gaming choices as seasonal. SM64 oddly feels like a Christmas game to me, about it.

Past two summers were a bust, so I'm taking in all the outdoor activity I can now.

@PSP107: Never thought that deeply, regretting this comment now.
