Steelbook Cases - Yay or Nay

The only ones I've had are Persona 5 and Halo 2. Happy with the quality of both. If its an options at the point of sale I for sure go for steel

I say nay, they look weird in your collections. Im happy Nintendo still doesnt do them in their collections.

Nay, they stand out in my game collection

and I also don't like the side label on them either.

I usually dont like them, but the P5 one is damn fine

I only care about them for Uncharted (favorite series). Games like Hitman that automatically come with them... Not a big fan as eventually those games will go into a specialized case that holds 120 discs.

Nay, such a waste of money. Playing the game will give you full satisfaction. However, if you are a money maker, it's definitely wise decision to buy them sealed and sell them off in X amount of years.

I like them and will always go with the option, especially when there isn't an additional price.

I only have Persona 5, Valkyria Chronicles, and the Pokemon Sun and Moon steelbook

If all games were released as steelbooks, I would say yay, but since that's not the case, I say nay since I like my collection to match and the steelbooks don't look right next to the rest of my collection.

Thumbs down. Far prefer the uniformity of plastic cases, even though I'm not a collector and have them all stashed away in a box somewhere.

They never come perfect. Those damn dings .

Nay, I like my cases to match. Absolutely hated when PS3 changed their cases mid-gen (even tho the design was much better) because my PS3 game spines are all over the place now.

People that say nay didn't buy Steel book editions.

I hate them, i want all my boxes to look the same in my collection. When i order some games i get TWO boxes, one normal sealed there the game is in and then the empty Steel Box ready to collect dust for no reason.

I love Steelbooks My first Video game steelbook was Injustice 2 and it is amazing, and I have a whole bunch of movie steelbooks.

For movies yay, games nay. I'm really into digital for gaming these days so I'm against any case.

I have a large steelbook movie collection. They are both good and bad. They do "look" cool, especially compared to the standard blu-ray case. The downside is they damage easy. You can get scratches, dents on them easily. Problem is unlike a generic case, you can't just "replace" the steelbook. So if you ding it you are stuck with the damaged steelbook.

I generally don't bother for games, though I do have a couple.

Yay for the first 7 days when they look cool, nay for day 8 and beyond when they start getting chipped, scuffed, and look like trash for the rest of forever.

Hmm I *think* they do Xenoblade Chronicles X gotta check my copy to confirm..pretty sure my special/limited edition comes with steelbook case.

They are heavy and don't look consistent with my other cases.

Are you sure? The only steelbook case I have is Metroid Prime Trilogy.

It could be wrapped in cellophane and i'd buy if it'd cost less.

It is hard to even call many of these bluray/ps4 disc cases, cases. They get flimsier and flimsier, using less and less plastic.

I bought the Little Big Planet 2 CE. Without doing any real research on it. I just knew the US version had all this cool stuff. Euroepans...

All we got was a steelbook case. No Sackboy Plushie.

Have disliked Steelbooks ever since.

I say nay and I have the Persona 5 steel book, along with Mass Effect 3.

I got P5 for the same price, so I thought I'd give it a try. It's cool and all but doesn't look uniform in my collection.

If I had a case for every game I owned I'd need a new house. I'll stick to digital thanks ;)

I have the one for Dark Souls 3 and Persona 5. the stupid thing with DS3 is they also gave the normal case ... to me it was a waste of plastic

@Star67: The Persona 5 steelbook is worth it for the controller skin alone. I wish I had it. Too bad I downloaded the game.

I really like it when I get both. The regular plastic case for everyday use and a steel book as a collectible.

I often find steelbook cases to be of bad quality. The few I have have some problems in closing completely. I prefer the normal plastic ones with some very few exceptions

It really doesn't matter. I like Halo 2's and I like Persona 5's. Not really a thing I give much thought.

What the hell are you doing to your games that this would happen? Maybe just take care of your stuff lol.
