Steam gets first gay themed game

Robert Yang's gay sex-themed experimental titles Hurt Me Plenty, Succulent, and Stick Shift, have been remastered and released on Steam as the anthology Radiator 2.

"These video games are pretty damn gay, and they're part of my semi-concerted attempt to #MakeGamesGayAgain," Yang stated in an email to Eurogamer. "I believe it's important for gay games to be present and visible on a major video game platform like Steam, to help resist and combat the very real erasure of gay people from games, society, or even erasure from the mass shootings that exclusively target gay people. It's important for people to see gay stuff on Steam and in larger game culture, because then it shows that 'we belong here' just like everyone else."

Still better than those anime visual novels.

I'm getting tired of those make whatever great again hashtags. I have no opinion regarding the games as I'm not going to play them, but good for those who are interested and have been waiting for this.

Bioware games have gay elements - that are mostly in there as bullet points to show how mature they are - like a kid smoking cigarettes.

I'm all for equality, **** homphobia, but I think making "gay games" isn't the right way to make gay people feel like they belong. Games adding gay characters, relationships, and marriage is the right way to go. And yes I'm aware several have. And that's a good thing.

I come to this board as an alternative to NeoGaf. You know, the board where there is a thread about a user who says a game with too many white characters is a "deal breaker." Oh, and another thread bitching about how there are no older female characters in Overwatch. We are getting to the point where people are bitching about ageism!!! When does the "outrage" stop and the silliness begin?

At least there are people actually gathering the knowledge and making the games the way they want them, instead of just bitching and pressuring others to change their games to include the things they want.

The incredible thing here, unlike Starbuck drinking Bioware games - it's deliberately designed to be in the players face making them unconformable. It's very much the definition of gay pride - and certainty more intelligent than Mass Effect.

Overall: the gaming should be thankful for such a product - very progressive stuff.

I fail to see what is harmful about this. Not everything has to be in the PG realm when it comes to gay content. Having that sort of mindset is more harmful then actually progressive.

I'm a gaymer but looking at these games makes me upset of how whatever something represented as gay is all about sex and adultry and softpo*n. That doesn't reflect me.. A game like uncharted but gay would be awesome or jrpg with a gay character or protagonist. Whatever but not like these games up there!

Enchanted Arms on the 360 had a gay character.

You know, this guy would have an easier time (and acceptance/reception) if he actually makes games like any other games...except that the protag is incidentally gay. Did he really have to be like "HEY LOOK I"M GAY AND GUESS HOW I HAVE SEX?"

As a hetero, I find straight sex potrayed in games as laughably bad and cringe-worthy. So they guy isnt doing his people a lot of favours, in fact, hes actually reinforcing the stereotypical impression a lot of people have when it comes to gays. ("gays seem really obsessed about sex ...")

Sex-themed games in general just don't work out. The scenes you get in the Mass Effect and Witcher games are so cringeworthy when you know all you're seeing is animated humping. It's just very awkward and largely unnecessary.
