All new information from Starfield:

• The game will give you a choice of location where you start your story, it can be a planet or a station
• ships will be able to control, fly with them and there are no air battles (rockets, lasers, rotators)
• ship modification
• the choice will be the basic model of the ship and it will be possible to replace engines, weapons, cargo space and cosmetic items that will change the whole appearance of the ship. Modifying a ship is like modifying a Power Armor in Fallout 4
• Nova Galactic is one of the shipbuilders, offering three models - Exploration, Cargo, Gunboat
• manufacturer Axion Energy offers two models of ships - Mining, Cargo
• shipbuilder Argos has one ship model - Science & Exploration
• weapons and armor will be customizable as in Fallout 4
• layered armor as in Fallout 4
• the player gets the opportunity to form a closer relationship with NPC characters
• perks work similarly to the arguments in Cyberpunk / Prey
• skill leveling works the same as in Skyrime
• The game will be from the age of 18, brutality similar to Fallout games

Planets, discovery, building

• gravity on different planets and stations will be different. Animals will be adapted to life on the planet - on planets with high gravity the animals will be smaller, stronger, on planets with low gravity they will be taller, lighter
• life on the planets and game mechanics are meant to "make sense" from a scientific point of view
• Gravity is a game mechanic, it can be switched off on the ship and everything that is not tied starts to fly
• artificial gravity exists at stations and ships
• intelligent life exists, but it's a mystery in the main story, 99% of the animals in the game are just primitive forms
• developers used procedurally generated environments to create planets
• building a base similar to that in Fallout 4 will be improved and used to establish colonies on planets
• you will be able to offer refugees housing in a new colony, where they will start setting up shops, workshops, landing areas
• it will be possible to establish colonies on virtually every planet
• ships use Helium 3 fuel in an internal combustion engine for manual flying in the environment and warp technology for flights between planets
• planet earth is a hole and cannot be landed on
• on Mars is the city of Cydonia, one of the largest cities in the system as it was the first colony in the world Starfield
• two pirate organizations: Black Fleet and Crimson Fleet, fight each other and the player gets a chance to join one of them and help them win
• the player can also join Vanguard, a faction of a kind of police that resolves conflicts and destroys both pirate organizations
• in the Kryx system there is a belt of asteroids, on one of the asteroids there is a city - neutral for all pirate organizations
• There is also a faction in the game that believes that Jesus / God came from the stars and they are looking for his real birthplace, you can join them
• the story revolves around the alien construction we saw in the trailer. The goal is to find a way to activate it if you will need to gain a lot of clues and knowledge

New Engine

• Creation Engine 2 will bring new rendering technology
• new animation system
• raytracing support
• Havok Engine is gone, physics developers have developed their own engine
• new AI
• new NPC character tracing
• new lighting

Liquor also mentioned that the release date of 11/11/2022 is uncertain and it is possible that they will postpone the game again.ID Software, which creates the FPS combat system, also collaborates on the game.

WOW that sound amazing. and collaborating with Id software to make shooting mechanics?? this feel like my Dream game. Space setting, FPS/RPG hybrid (also third person for those who dont like first person), Huge space exploration with flying ship and etc.

HOLY CRAP!! this is most ambitious game I have ever ever seen judging by info. it will be no less than 10/10.

Next they might have game-balance, NPC's that don't fall through the floor and stealth that doesn't nullify the other 50- 100+ hours of game you're expected to play.

Anyway, this all sounds very cool. I’m all for a more realistic tone. And ID doing the FPS part is just too good!

Bethesda trying something new and big. I think they might break their record of bugs and technical performance problems with this one.

It would have been easier to just write "Unplayable at launch".

Fallout 4 actually had pretty good shooting mechanics, probably their first game that didn't have clunky unsatisfying combat. Everything else seemed to suffer though.

Fallout 4's shooting mechanics were terrible......But I would not have trusted Avalanche to deliver the shooting mechanics of Rage 2 without ID's help...So obviously they are being smart using ID, as that was the absolute best part of Rage 2 & without such satisfying shooting that game would have not been a game I spent time on.

The problem is, this is such a massive game, to do it properly is going to cost sh!tloads, & that is money MS will want back quick to invest in more hits. $1 sub services & even at the full price they charge for GP, it won't payback unless MT, or other extra monetary payments are paid by gamers.

And before the Stan's start carrying on, "Yes it will". Factor in that MS is also funding THE WHOLE lot of Zenimax studios they bought, as well as their other 1st party studios projects, add the 7.5 billion they paid up front for Zenimax, then 3rd party exclusives timed or not, etc, etc. And do the math of how it would be bleeding money & that MS won't allow Xbox division to hemorrhage it's money forever...So, they will lure the fish, then when hooked, they will slowly, slyly start implementing paywalls, MT's or whatever of some kind in.

Look at Halo already, they are breaking it up into portions, MP is a GP thing, but will other sections be charged at near or full price?????

Very interested, but call me in early 2023 when this game is delayed from 2022.

My friend if you want to play a boring space simulator in a dark room doing nothing while everyone else at the weekend socializing, Elite is the way to go.

Bethesda game will probably be a mechanical mess, shallow as a puddle. And as mentioned above, riddled with greed.

@Archangel3371: Hype isn't the word I would say but for me, I'm intrigued what Bethesda can do with this new IP and I do want to know more about Starfield. Some of the bullet points sounds promising...too promising if you ask me.

Nah, the gunplay was subpar and I may have tried to overlook it being the RPG but then again the rest of the gameplay was sh*t as well. Literally gave up after an hour of play.

Before CP2077 their games weren't a broken mess like Bethesda games and CDPR were a fairly new developer who kicked Besthesda's a$$in the genre they considered to be a pioneers in. Bethesda doing anything ambitious means jackshit. Haven't made a good game yet.

Oh and as for the most ambitious games, a masterpiece etc etc. you said the same thing about CP2077. It will turn out exactly the same.
