Come on… Y’all can’t be surprised by this…
Last spring before E3, I spoke to some folks on Starfield who were extremely worried about committing to a 11-11-22 date based on the progress they’d made so far. (“Next Cyberpunk” was the term floated.) Good on Bethesda for delaying even after announcing that specific date. https://t.co/QdWFf0zGIY

Expected. Mostly Redfall, no way that was coming out 2022. Starfield I was hoping a 2022 release, but it's not surprising either.
They were the only two games Xbox Game Studios had scheduled for release on Xbox this year.
Xbox doesn't have a single game scheduled to be published this year. E3 will likely change this but, damn. It's a ghost town.

Microsoft is publishing games all the time. Have you missed the new Age of Empires III expansion? They just released another Age of Empires II expansion as well.
Completely expected. I think the new God of War will be delayed as well.
pls no
I think most were expecting Starfield to be shown off at the June show. I wonder if they were afraid the showing might get the same negative feedback that Infinite got and decided the title just wasn't going to be ready for prime time so just bite the bullet now before getting all that negative press?
Likely a wise move if you ask me.
@x_hedon:
I just included it in my post without out even thinking about what I was doing. lololol :P
A shame it got delayed. But the hype was getting out of hand, and it's better that they delay the game to iron out the kinks than release some buggy mess, only to get pie in their face. With the hype being what it was, the reputational damage would have been massive to both Bethesda and MS.
It's best to take nintendos approach to these things. They literally cancelled the 2019 release date of metroid prime and said development was restarting from scratch because it wasn't up to their standards. If Bethesda needs to do even that, then they should.
Literally nobody gives a **** about Jason. You may as well quote Colteastwood as a reputable source.
Thats why I posted him. He’s the new Pachter as far as goofs with bad takes go
Not surprised. I have been saying this for months now. Just wondering if the PS5 versions will really take a year after release still or not.
Completely expected. I think the new God of War will be delayed as well.
Now that would be a real surprise, because Sony has already said a couple times that it's still coming in 2022.
I'm trying to feel something from this news, and all I could draw is an "eh..." We've seen so little of both that there so little of anything to get excited or disappointed about. That said, I think we know already what to expect from Starfield anyway. A BGS game is a BGS game.
Oh well. Back to other games.

Literally nobody is as bad as pachter, he is legendary in his suckage. He has the gift of always being wrong.
Didn't he say Sony was gonna go bankrupt this year?
Time to stock up on Sony shares, folks

He also slammed the Switch when it was announced. It’s impossible to be more wrong than that…

We were told by Lems that Bethesda never talks about their games ahead of time, therefore, the game will definitely come out this November. What fools we were /s 😎

That wouldn't be a surprise at all actually. It's what the DelayStation is known for. It was already delayed once. God of War 2018 was delayed. God of War 3 was delayed a couple years.
Imagine if Sony Santa Monica actually gets God of War out before the end of 2022, and Insomniac actually releases both Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine next year before Starfield or Redfall actually release. That would be a huge blow

It was funny for a while but after a while I purposefully started ignoring every single Pachter thread on SW really hard.
I'm glad people stopped posting what that clown had to say. I follow a lot of insiders now and it makes me realise even more now how Pachter is absolutely terrible at his job.

At least God of War 3 and God of War 2018 were delayed for good reason as they came out incredible.
Can't say that about all delayed titles.

And Starfield is being delayed for good reason. I am not sure of your point though?

I mean, no one knows how good it will be when it actually releases...because it hasn't been released yet...
Jeez, MS has 30 studios under their belt. It's surprising they don't release something every year at least. One of these years the game releases are going to be packed

Yeah, man. One of these days. Currently 23 studios and only 2 new AAAs from Nov 2020 to whenever in 2023. Christ on a cracker how do they still stay losing?

The biggest question I have is about Rare's Everwild, shown off mid 2020 and apparently the whole thing was scrapped and started over.

I have no idea why people stay on the Xbox wagon. How do you own (Activision pending) five percent of the gaming industry and still struggle to provide AAA content? And they have wasted billions in this gen only to continue to let EVERYone down. Along with Halo being a crash and burn, how the hell does Phil Spencer still have a job? I don't get it
lmaooo Bethesda is absolutely terrified of Elden Ring. Why would they release Starfield in the year of Elden Ring?
Their precious game would get exactly 0 GOTY awards.
Imagine if God of War Ragnarok also got delayed to 2023? We'd probably see Starfield in 2024 or risk another year of not winning GOTY.
