From my experience in the Beta Weekend, I think it deserves a 9.0 or higher.

Hyping it 8.5. It looks like what WoW would have been if Blizzard didnt drop the ball with it.

System Wars Guild anyone?

GS SW, or System Wars would be acceptible though, in all seriousness and it gets the ponit across very quickly. I'd not join it, I'll just follow my WoW guild, of which plenty are going over, assuming they go to a low latency server, I'll NEVER AGAIN play on a 100+ ms server (mug'thol runs at 89-100, but I get spikes of 200-400 constently smh), ruins the feel of PvP so much. (I played the beta on a 45-68ms server :D)

I say, it 'should' get around a 9-9.5:

WoW got an 9.5 here, it was pretty low on content and only an improvement on EQ. And it's PvP was honestly pretty bad, I remember being naked beating anyone on my rogue when I went Hemo, yay 'balance'.

SW:TOR has more worthwhile content (from what I understand) than WoW does now, WoW's content is only 1 raid, 1 pvp'raid' 3 instances, 5 bg's 3 PvEvP zones, 1 bs'world' pvevp zone and a few arenas, the existence of the previous raids/dungeons isn't really relevant.

And I'd also say, due to presentation, WoW's story shouldn't exactly be considered content, maybe it's 'half' a value of content. What ever a 'half value of content' is worth... :D

And swtor's got a couple Raids, a few PvP zones, and a fair amount of dungeon equivalents.

Unless the standards have changed from 'must be solid improvement, or just damn good' to 'must be game of the century/hype' to get a 9.

And, Rift got an 8, I played that in beta... liked it less than Aion(beta), and that sucked.

On early perception I was guilty of this, but after playing the 2 weekend beta's I took that all back.

8.5/10 or 9/10 I think itll get at gamespot.

I have not loved a mmo since Ultima Online which was a long long time ago, so hoping this is the next mmo to grab my attention. I am a HUGE fan of KOTOR and this has about 8 KOTOR games worth of singleplayer content so thought why not :P

Shame, because that was otherwise a cool sounding name.

Anyone who votes AAAAE(10), you're wrong, it doesn't have rogue squadron-esque(preferably improved) space combat, instead it has starfox-esque, there isn't legit player housing, which, imo, should be done pseudo eve style, in space 'n such with stations(neutral) capitol ships(guild) medium/small ships(player), and get the mechanics for actually flying.

Now, if it had that, it'd be a 10, easily.

MMOs are hard to judge on a numbers / rating scale.

Given the scope, multiplayer aspect, it deserves some leniency in judging because it offers so much more than most games.

ToR is a unique animal. Surface comparison to WoW for sure, but once you start getting into the Mass Effect components it takes on a different light.

I still don't know whether I want to get this or not. I played the beta and loved it, but I don't wanna get hooked on another MMO.

no lower than 8.5, simplly because it's Star Wars, and Bioware's name attachted to it.

BTW, Imperial Intellagence strikes from the Shadows.

I played the empire for closed beta (2 months worth). It was fun, I liked it, but I hate the personalities of the empire because they are primarily a bunch of dirt bags.

I plan on going republic for release, but have heard people complain about the story being 'boring'.

So the question is:

Are those complainers just the sociopathic anti-good gamers, who simply can't handle a righteous person like a Jedi...

or is the story legimately just boring?

I find there are a lot of Bioware fans who are just sociopaths (check the ME relationship posts on Social.bioware), so this question came to mind.

Smuggler - This is the one I played. It was good, and involved [spoiler] treasure hunting for a lost treasure [/spoiler] (Not a huge spoiler). I enjoyed it and wished I could have kept my progress.

Jedi Knight/Jedi Consular - From what I've heard, both Jedi's stories are basically stereotypical stuff you'd think would go hand in hand with the Jedi. the Knight's story has more to do with the battling part, and the Consular has more to do with the political part. A good amount of people seem to enjoy them, but others say these specifically are boring because they don't do anything particularly risky.

Trooper - I have less experience with this. People seemed to have enjoyed it, though I don't even know what its about. Haven't heard anything bad other than some people thinking the idea of being a trooper as boring.

Empire seems to make itself more interesting simply because it allows to play the game from the perspective that we haven't really seen before. It creates a more unique story people like because of it.

I have yet to experience it, but I expect an 8.5. Can't wait for it to come out.

I want to play, but im waiting til finals are over like a good student :)

Jedi Consular's story is about finding lost artifacts. Which is about as interesting as it sounds. Generally considered to be the worst story in the game coupled with Sith Inquisitor.

Jedi Warrior's story is very cheesy, features oblivious characters and seems to exist only to stroke your ego. It is written by Drew Karpyshyn so no real surprise there.

Republic Trooper has a slow start, but once you get off the starting area it gets more interesting.

Smuggler I cannot comment about.

Also, I would remove the poll and do a handcount if you want too avoid poll rigging (Like the Diablo III HYPE thread or the Uncharted 3 HYPE thread as recent examples)...but that's all I'm going to say, thanks for the info mang. :P
