Star Wars Battlefront 3 Not a Thing For Now, Design Director Says; There Isn’t the “Same Hunger” for Sequels

Good. It was terrible star wars battlefield Spin-off series from DICE that failed.

let it die.

I guess people hating on the movies and EA making a mess of the brand will put off people from the brand.

DICE are worst AAA developer today along with Crystal dynamics and machinegames.

Battlefield is terrible series that have tack on short SP to justify full price sell and MP which has been done to death in last 15 years. its worst than COD. and they will keep making it forever and ever.

"You people won't let us get away with turning this thing into a casino... so screw you!"

This is one game series I never thought I would regret to see back this gen.

I got that game for $7.50 and still feel bad about the purchase. Beautiful game that isn't fun and rife with disgusting practices. It's the epitome of what I hate about modern gaming.

Forget Battlefront 3, Jedi Fallen Order is the true Star Wars game we deserve.

Man BattleFront 2 is fun, Coolyfett still plays and there are many players still there so whats the beef? It took what was great about the original Battlefront 2 and made it better. Only paid 10$ for it and nothing else. Coolyfett will play until they take the servers down. Glad they showed the Clone Wars love too.

Your and ghosts hate is quite funny to say the least.

They are still actively supporting Battlefront II.

You may not like this game, you may not have given it a fair chance to begin with. But the playerbase for Battlefront II keeps increasing, that is a fact.

Haven't really thrown much hate towards BFII tbh, knew from the start it EA would pull some kind of bullshit, don't need to be Nostradamus, it's like saying it will rain at some point. The last EA title I bought was Dead Space 3 and that was what? 6-7 years back.

I mean, it totally deserves hate, and EA shat upon at every possible opportunity. But the game itself, eh.

They didn't listen to the suggestion to add Jar Jar Binks as a DLC character. That it why they fail

Please Disney, don't let these mother fuckers get the license for another 10 years.

Bring back in-house game making. Rebuild the studios and make your own.

I came here to say that. Good riddance to the Battlefront Series. I'm much more looking forward to the new Star Wars IP which has combat inspired by Fromsoft and no multiplayer. It looks really good.

There's no hunger, because you create shit games... Then get the ultimate backlash when you include lootboxes.

Well maybe if you would have taken everything that made the original two Battlefront games amazing and improved upon that instead of giving us the pretty shit we got then maybe people would hunger for the sequels. Why were vehicles power ups. BF1 and BF2 from this gen were 100 steps back from the PS2 era games.

BF1 I thought was pretty good, even though you had to wait for all the content drops for it to be really good (the only real complaint I had was not enough maps and modes at launch). But once all the DLC was out, and eventually made free, it was a pretty solid package IMO. Probably my most played shooter this gen at least.

BF2 unfortunately was a cluster. All they had to do was take BF1, and refine it and have a more complete game at launch. They wrecked that game with greed and poor "monetization" choices. I assume it was EA corporate suits fault more than stuff DICE actually wanted in there, but still...DICE made the game. Also the campaign was your typical pathetic DICE campaign. Worthless.

Disney cannot be happy with the return they've seen on EA exclusivity, barely any games out there and what is out there suffers from mixed opinion and apathy.

Not surprising, since they keep BF2 moving forward with updates and community events.

New map confirmed for autumn, plus Rise of Skywalker content on the way.

Its a fantastic game that i have put many hundreds of hours into. still not even close to being bored with it.

I'm torn because the singleplayer of BF2 was actually really good; good story (sort of fighting behind the scenes of the movies, or shortly after them), stunning visuals, good action.

But then again, I hate lazy cash-ins and sadly people cannot be trusted to not buy a shitty cash-in because they're lame.

Ah well, hope they work on something else. That isn't Battlefield or Battlefront.

I dont think anyone can call this game lazy. the attention to detail is brilliant, there have been new maps, new skins, oodles of clone wars content. plus new voice lines, enforcers added. It has been updated and changed quite significantly since launch.

Fundamentally, it is lazy. I don't expect every game to be groundbreaking or revolutionary, but Battlefront 2 seemed like more of the same, and what was there in the beginning was already very bland.

I'll be honest, however, I am biased, so you probably do have a fair point haha

I think the clue is in the name "2", its a sequel which IMO definitely improved on the 2015 game.

i would like to see some of those 2015 maps appear in the game, but other than a few bugs of late with the latest patch, i cant complain.

I honestly cant think of another game i have played longer (and i've been gaming a long time). besides RDR2, i can't think of any other game which has pulled me from star wars BF2 since it came out.

Can't speak for Windows and Xbox, but the player base on PS4 is awesome. Its always 20 vs 20 in every match. Coolyfett rarely sees the same names over and over unless play Heroes v Villians and even then its not an 8 for 8 copy. Not sure if this is a EA beef or Disney beef, but Star Wars Battlefront II on PS4 is well worth the 10$. EASY.

Yea. That's the thing that really on my tits.

We all know the reason why, anyone with even a vague interest in gaming knows why. They know why.

Yet they still persist with PR slop talking down to people like they are too stupid to figure it, going with the antiquated thinking of it's just them and the press as a mouthpiece.

To be frank, I did not like the original game either. Star Wars Battlefront II was just inferior to the first game in almost every way.

But DICE has improved this game a lot. Even I am interested in playing Battlefront again, especially with the new map and COOP mode coming this month.

Good. Disney shouldn't just be regretting the EA deal, and not intending to renew it. They should be suing EA for failing so miserably at what they were contracted to do, and getting the deal canceled/nullified/whatever, so they can scrap everything EA has in the works and give the contract to a company that makes games, not money-extractors.

It was their fault, it takes a special kind of stupid to buy the rights to a Battlefield clone with Star Wars characters, hire the developer who makes Battlefield to make the game, and then proceed to refuse to make it like Battlefield.
