GS review
So basically, same rating range as Assault.
I'll still pick it up when it's a bit cheaper.

I think its a pretty good score for how complicated the controls are. As expected from Platinum though. The critics are being very harsh on it. Giant Bomb destroyed it for looks. Other sites did the same. Ive never seen critics do this, its weird. But most are being fair, the game is extremely complicated just like all Platinum games.
"However the game is held back by the inconsistent graphics, the framerate and short game length."
Its weird for so many critics to feel this way. But bout every single review stats the same, complicated controls, too much Platinum.
Wow, was not expecting such an high score. The critics point what I was expecting, controls and visuals, two things I care very little about.
This game is developed by Platinum games? Wow had no idea, I thought Starfox was always Nintendo 1st party
@iandizion713: Platinum games arent complicated?
They are. Platinum prides itself on making complex controls. Its a motto with their studio, they believe in difficulty through controls.

They haven't been achieving their motto imo then...
Great score. I was a little worried. Glad to see Nintendo came through and delivered another fantastic exclusive.

Most games with inconsistent graphics, framerate and short game length would get nailed at a 3 or 4 review score. Hell, The Order: 1886 had beautiful graphics and framerate, but short length and got a 5/10. This games only getting inflated scores because its Nintendo.
Besides bad gameplay of course, I cant think of worse offenders than bad graphics, inconsistent framerate and short game length.

Graphics mean nothing. Its subjective, i played an NES game a few weeks ago, it looked great, my mind filled in the blanks. The framerate issue is not even there. Yeah, frame rates drop some, but it doesnt effect the game and you wont even notice it.
The game length is also a none issue. The same people complaining about its game length stated they loved previous Star Fox games that had the same game length. Also thats how these games are, its how theyre designed. So it makes no sense. Ive never heard critics complain Indie games are too short.
And guess what, these are all the complaints its got along with complicated controls that take getting use to. Sounds good to me.
@jcrame10: Cause i read the DF report and have read about 6+ reviews so far that says its a none issue. Even the person who complained about it didnt state anything.

Sounds like you're stretching the meaning of the word "fantastic" a bit.
Perhaps. But considering I was expecting another "kirby rainbow curse" style thrashing a seven is a damn good score.

Star Fox has always had history of being developed from outside. Besides 64/Lylat Wars, here are the devs with this history:
Argonaut - Star Fox/Starwing
Rare - Star Fox Adventures
Namco - Star Fox Assault
Q-Games - Star Fox Command
@2Chalupas
I expected a 5/10 or 6/10, and frankly from reading his review it almost reads like a 5/10 review. Guess they gave some pity points to Nintendo.
Ugh, more of this conspiracy? There were no "Nintendo pity points" for the likes of Kirby Rainbow Cruise, any of the new Yoshi games (Woolly World and New Island) or Devil's Third and those games got mediocre to bad reviews.
Not bad. I might pick it up down the road when it is cheaper unless it gets ported to the NX.
I predict the NX will be backwards compatible with the Wii U and Wii.
Lol Charizard. Probably he hyped this to the heavens )
I don't mean to speak for Charizard, but I know that is wrong.
So it's Platinum's worst game besides Kora? Jesus.
Is that saying much, given the reception differences?
It looks okay just nothing special and not worth full price or even half that for me. All I wanted was another Starfox Adventures but ahh well. Might rent this eventually.
