SoulCalibur VI fighters mini hype thread club! It has Geralt :) (Gamespot review in progress, 8/10 pending)

What can I say, I play fighting games for a living since the 90's, SoulCalibur franchise happens to be my favorite fighting game series, I'm hype for SoulCalibur VI as it is.

• System Platform: PS4/Xbox One/PC

Not gonna go to a length of details but know this. Namco has finally listen to it's fan, SoulCalibur V was lackluster as hell, Namco ensures they won't make the same mistakes with SoulCalibur VI.

As for what versions to buy, this was a difficult decision should I buy PS4 or PC. I ended up just buying PC version for single player stuff & mods. And so with that, I'll go with an 8/10. Who's hype for SoulCalibur VI? Can't wait to play Taki & Geralt!

I’m very hyped for Soul Calibur VI. I think that it’ll probably get an 8 here. I’ll be getting the Xbox One version myself.

It looks solid, like a true sequel to Soul Calibur 2. Been watching many matches of it already. Hope it gets good reviews. If it does, I'm getting this asap, Steam version. I miss having a really good fighting game..

Not the biggest fan of Geralt (I'd take Spawn or Necrid instead any day), but another character is always cool to have.

One of my favorite fighting game series. What the last couple gens has taught me though is to wait till the Gold Edition a year later that has all the DLC fighters. I'm patient.

I could've waited for GOTY Edition myself, but this is one of those games I'll go ahead and buy everything now. I love Fighting games, I gotta play this NOW!

What a lovely looking game. It's unfortunate no crossplay is available, it's far more valuable to fighting games than Battle Royal titles. But, it should be suitably populated even on PC.

These last couple of months have been too loaded with games, so SC VI is something I'll have to try at a later date. It looks more fun than the last couple of entries though, and I love that the character designs have gone back to the SC I & II days.

I updated the OP on the review pending and GS is hovering in a 8/10. Just as a I called it, 8/10 baby!

I really like the lighting in this game during the day.

Looks abit shitty at night though.

I been playing Geralt, I gotta say, he's kinda overpowered in this game but then again, I guess it's expected since he's a Witcher after all. Geralt is the best guest character yet in SoulCalibur series. So far, I'm enjoying the game as it is, no complaints yet though. I expect DF will be doing comparisons later on, love to hear what they have to say about performance difference between consoles/PC.

He was the best cameo... for the 6th gen at least.

I like the menu design for this game.

Only played Libra mission mode. It's pretty lazy. Stages look terrible, too.

They do feel extremely empty compared to other fighters.

I gotta say, Geralt is by far the best guess character in the SoulCalibur family, Ezio on the other hand, I don't see how a AC character fits in SoulCalibur but his fighting style isn't bad either.

But to be honest, I do see some flaws in this game however, this is not a Fighting game I would recommend right now unless someone is a big SC fan (like me) and doesn't care much about CaS. The game could really use:

• A couple more characters.
• A few more stages and stage effects.
• All the gear from IV and V.
• Team and Survival modes.
• 11 stages is staggering low, and the lack of options in CAS is a bummer, they always go one step forward two steps back with it.

But at the end of the day, I really want to see SCVI get's heavy supported cause Namco stated if this game fails, we won't see a new SC for a very long time.
