Sony's Losing Streak Refuses to Lose Momentum.

Sony seems to care very little about its consumer interests. You can clearly see shoddy work on the left and excellent craftsmanship on the right. The lazy stacking of boxes, with consoles so heavy, they crush their allies below. Mind you, the Ps5 is weaker than the Xbox Series 360, so the fact that this still happens is baffling.

On the other hand, the pallet of Xboxses looks perfectly ready for delivery. Excellent foil winding technique. Notice the man (Phil Spencer probably) in charge of this, also took the time to foil both pallet and Xboxes together, minimizing the chance of the load, falling off the pallet. This usually happens during loading and transporting. As we speak, truck delivery men are explaining to Kaz Hiraz that their shipment fell over.

Final point, the pallet quality. Anyone with a keen eye for delivery and supply, can see that the pallet on the right is clearly of higher quality. A sturdier pallet, for a stronger console.

Do you believe Sony are shipping their consoles loose on a pallet like that?

Judging by the wat they are stacked (which is correct btw as it spreads the load across the units) it looks like the bottom boxes are loaded by about 2 to 3 consoles. The xbox packaging shows the bottom ones also supporting 3 units.

Given both weight approximately the same, the lowest xbox and PS5 are supporting similar weight.

The sony consoles will also be shrink wrapped with an additional box over the top for transport, the same as the xbox.

Clearly the PS5's have been unwrapped and shifted.

I'm not sure what this thread is other than OP displaying his insecurities and ensuring he feels safe that his money has been spent correctly.

Sony not only skimping on power, also shipping costs. Everything about this console is cheap, except the price. Cows getting shafted on all fronts.

Because the console is so big they can stack less consoles on a pallet and this is bad for nature.

@netracing: I worked at a third party warehouse for SCEA during the ps2/3 days and I gotta say their pallets came in buttery smooth for all their videogame related products. I wonder if they’ve cancelled their contract with the Terra Haute IN facility and went with someone new to save a buck? Because man, that’s some shoddy work. Looks to be an engineering nightmare all around.

Clearly, but they’re not supposed to collapse upon itself during unwrapping. I’ve never seen the ps2 or the much much heavier ps3 do that.

MS was up quite a lot last week but has dropped since.

While I think this picture is a non issue it does bother me that the PS5's are stacked upside down from an OCD perspective

Warehouses never really care if the boxes get crush like the above pic. Can't say I'm surprise by this as I used to work in a Warehouse when I was a teenager lol.

ahh,that's how they get the ps5 console shape.keep stacking them on top of each other till they are 3ft x 3ft and look as if they have been melted,stick a egg box on either side then send them out to retailers

I worked in one in my early 20's just after University before finding work in my field. Who ever stacked this pallet is a moron

1. Lay them on their wide surface not on the end

2. Cardboard between layers would help against shifting

3. you piled them upside down (this bothers my OCD as I stated above)

This is what happens when the supervisors don't monitor their workers and as such, this is what the results come into play. Sad to see stuff like this continues today. And I was only doing truck deliveries back in the day.

Well first of all, these are amazon fulfillment warehouses, each console (PlayStation/Xbox will be taken off the pallet and individually boxed up in a separate larger box, filled with foam and packaging peanuts, then shipped off to the Amazon Sortation center(I work at one) then loaded onto trucks or vans and delivered to their destination, where they will be unpacked by a store or direct consumer.

Well, the unboxing vid shows a very bare bones packaging for PS5, probably wasn't rigid enough to support pallet loads like this.

I will give Sony credit though on one thing, they alternated the arrangement PS5s between layers, smart to keep stack stable (when the base doesn't buckle like soggy cardboard). I generally hate it when shipments come in like MS's because once the shrink-wrap is off stack patterns like that have stability issues.

Anyhow, it's almost like you can tell who grew up playing with Legos versus who grew up with MineCraft.

Those pictures are indisputable proof that Sony is going to crush this gen.

One of the x-boxes has its green side up, very sloppy.

Also the worker has left his potentially covid infected gloves on top of the xbox pile. I recommend all Series X buyers to clean their new console with alcohol and not take off their mask while playing for the first two weeks.
