Sony State of Play + Last of Us 2 reveal event Sept 24th! Update: Feb 21st release date!

There aren’t any specifics on what we can expect from the episode, but Sept. 24 happens to be the day that Naughty Dog is holding a press event in Los Angeles for The Last of Us Part 2. It’s also been a while since we’ve heard anything about Ghost of Tsushima, the samurai action game from Infamous developer Sucker Punch Productions. And perhaps we’ll get some information on what’s next from Insomniac Games, which recently joined the PlayStation Worldwide Studios team and is currently working on an Oculus Rift-exclusive virtual reality game called Stormland.

I'm usually not that hyped for these State of Plays because frankly they're not as good as Nintendo Direct. But this one is on the same day as the Last of Us 2 event, so it should be good. You ready for this one, SW?

As always, I'll be hoping to see a Dino Crisis reboot but I won't hold my breath.

It's a damn shame my former companion XVision84 won't be here to celebrating TLOU2 but then again, I won't have to bet on him now and so with that, TLOU2 maybe the star of PS4 but it's still gonna get dethrone by Ghost of Tsushima, the true GOTY.

4 was a step forward game wise but the map is less interesting.

Last of last part 2 getting a lot of attention. I'm pretty there are going other great games at state of play. Finally, something good coming from State of play. The last two weren't good except if you play VR and "small ants" indie games.

I've lost interest in The Last of Us 2...

I'm really wondering if the game will come out this year or early next year. We shall find out soon!

Theres not gonna be ps3 graphics with next gen lighting. As well co op enforced gameplay. So no the lems amd herms arent gonna like it.

Meanwhile they praise ori and ignore gears of wars walking simulator sections lol

I am excited to see The Last of Us 2 in action. I just hope that we will see lots of actual gameplay instead of beautiful, non-playable movie scenes. Anyway, the game already looks much more promising than Death Stranding.

I got sick of last of us trying to platinum it. So not that much hyped about the sequel.

As someone who owns a PS4, I'm not even slightly interested in TLOU2. So...no, the announcement isn't going to cause any meltdowns.

Anyway, the cows have already set their hype at 10/10 GOTG, so there's not a lot to discuss here. I guess if the release date is early next year, we don't have to wait long to see if it flops?

I'm not as excited by TLoU2 as others. I enjoyed the first, but I don't worship the ground it walks on.

More curious for Ghost of Sushi than TLOU2, but it will be cool to see more of both anyway. Zero interest in a new Spiderman. Hopefully a peak into a next gen title.

You don't have to be an insider to figure that one out. Just look at Naughty Dog's gameography for the last 12 years and you'll see making cinematic story-driven games is their thing now.

That sounds too good. I like to lower my expectations for things like these. Only thing I truly expect is TLOU2 release date in March/April 2020.

In all honesty, I'm not really looking forward to TLoU2. The first was so dark that I only completed it once. The gameplay, setting and story telling were top notch but it was very dark. The sequel looks more so. I'll probably pick it up after a price drop but given that my favorite series from the dev (Uncharted) has ended, I don't really follow them anymore.
