Sony should make a new Heavenly Sword game

Anyone here remembers that game, Heavenly Sword? It had a fairly decent story, characters and the graphics/voice acting were on par with Uncharted, both games had the exact same problem, both had short single player campaigns and no multiplayer offerings whatsoever, Uncharted was given another try by Naughty dog because the first game sold well enough, but that wasn't the case with Heavenly Sword... the poor thing, Ninja Theory went multiplat and scrapped any ideas for a sequel because they're not looking to sign another contract with Sony for a sequel and Sony basically ditched the IP, although Nariko the main character is featured on Battle Royale.

Sucker Punch or Naughty dog could do wonders with the Heavenly Sword universe.

I always wanted to play it but never did. Looks good.

I enjoyed Enslaved. It wasnt amazing but I had fun with it and the story was somewhat interesting.

The only thing good about the original game was the song used in the commercial.

Why?? It wasn't good at all.

I wouldn't want to see Sucker Punch or Naughty Dog restricted by the IP. The universe wasn't even very interesting, so I'd rather it stay abandoned in favor of new IPs.

I bought Heavenly Sword because my PS3 was lacking on games early on and it looked really cool visually. And even then it felt like a waste of money. There is a good reason why the game didn't see a sequel this gen.

Their talented devs, that's for sure, but I'm not sure how well they would do on ideas that are not their own.

I'm just curious, is that something Sony can make the call on or is it something where Ninja Theory would make the final call? I think they did Enslaved after Heavenly Sword, and they're on Devil May Cry now, so it seems like they've gained recognition amongst major publishers. If you think about it, they've worked with Microsoft, Sony, Namco-Bandai and now Capcom.

Well, Capcom has been a former shadow of itself for years now. It's just that many people didn't acknowledge it since they gained a lot of momentum by bringing back Street Fighter in 2009. But after that? Yeah, they kinda screwed up a lot. Still a major publisher, but they're really at the bottom of the barrel.

Such a good game. I love it. But, it kinda ended and I wouldn't want to play as the other girl.

Another game no one bought ? Sony has a whole lineup of exclusives like that

they should and they should do more to make it its own game. HS did a little bit different but at the end of the day felt like God of War with a girl. And Im not sure if you want to create competition with your own IPs, having two exclusives so similar isn't really the best idea.

they should do something Kind of like how Diddy Kong Racing even though it was just a game like mario kart did things to make it feel like a whole new experience.

Heavenly Sword was awesome. Great and memorable characters, good story, beautiful artstyle, simplistic but fun gameplay, it was just excellent all around. The only real legitimate complaint people had (myself included) was that it's only 5 hours long, but seeing as how you can get the game for incredibly cheap now there's no reason not to give it a try. Everyone should play it.

I'm kind of sad that I sold my copy now. This thread makes me want to do another playthrough.
