Sony partners with Travis Scott

As revealed in the latest PlayStation Blog post, Senior Vice President of PlayStation Worldwide Marketing Eric Lempel revealed their collaboration with Scott. "Through our mutual passion for gaming and creativity, we plan on collaborating with Travis and his Cactus Jack brand to produce innovative projects that we hope will delight our collective fans."

The PlayStation team says they chose Scott because he is "constantly surprising" and "incredibly innovative," which is something they are looking for when going into a new generation of gaming.

I do not think anyone who does not listen to contemporary rap will know who is Travis Scott. As someone who detest current rap (I often see it as angry Black urban music with so much profanity), I do not know who he is.

I like Travis Scott as an artist, but I cannot stand his fanbase and the bandwagon that follows. I gotta say, Travis looks like the grown-up Marcus who advertise PSP lol.

All jest aside, Sony has made some questionable decisions here lately...Is Travis Scott really going to bring more people to PS5? Obviously, this partnership isn't aimed at Gamespot/System Wars, it's aimed at his fans. I don't really care, I'm not at the age where a Social Media influencer has any importance to me. He is famous though.

I think sony is playing it well, we know the usual reviewers get units, but sony is going outside that quadrant in search of even wider audience.

Dude has 34 million fallowers on Instagram, i see sony sending units to people with many fallowers could pay off hugely, remember gaming was popular in 1994, but sony expanded the market when they enter the console market, maybe they are looking for ways to expand it more.
