Oh shiiiit, while im not a big fan of insomniac Spiderman sold over 20 million copies thats like 1/5 people with a ps4 bought spiderman.

This is bigger than anything microsoft has done imo.

This straight up squashes every acquisition MS made on their dev shopping spree. This is a HUGE deal for Sony. Smart move.

Surprised it didn't happen earlier. They only worked with Sony for the longest time before exploring other options there for a while.

So does that mean we will see Sunset Overdrive coming to PS4? Now that's something I like to see so that everyone can now play it.

Agreed SO is a great game and everyone should be able to play it.

Not surprised... this was the leading contender for me if Sony was going to buy a studio.

It makes perfect sense. The one time Insomniac broke away from Sony and made an exclusive for someone else, (lala Xbox One Sunset Overdrive) it bombed hard. All of their success has been with Sony and this partnership is a great win for both companies. Spider-Man PS4 was a solid hit and Ratchet and Clank is still popular, you want to be on the winning team.

Really? You mean the studio who's portfolio has been over 95% Sony exclusives and is now being owned by Sony is a huge deal because they will continue to make Sony exclusives?

@hrt_rulz01: Ninja theory was struggling to make big budget games. And PG has never made anything other then Forza. I'd say this is probably bigger then either of those.

Haha I played as a female character too. The voice acting was quite good.

Lots of fun clothing options too.

@hrt_rulz01: NT is great, but arguably not the same caliber as Insomniac. As for PG, dude, they have....Forza. That's about it.

Great acquisition nearly exclusively on Sony platform anyway but suits both parties.

I know Spider-Man sealed the deal on this. There's no way Insomniac was ever going to sell on that same level on any other platform.

Well I was one of the few who dint downplay the game because it was an Xbox exclusive.

But what you complain now is no different from those who downplayed Insomniac games in the past but we're quick to hop on the SSOD train because it was an Xbox game.

@BassMan: Sony has been trying to purchase IG since 00-01, back when they purchased Naughty Dog. IG always wanted to remain independent so they never let themselves get bought out. Wonder what has changed their minds now.

Took them long enough. Spiderman has been killing it. Probably convinced both sides that they should finally make it happen. They belong together.

Pretty much this. The humor didn't work for me while playing as a guy, I was told to play as a female and they were right, the game is more fun while as a female and the humor works as well.

Considering the contractual obligations Sony has with Spider-Man if they wish to keep having the IP license, I'm sure their grand plan will be turning Insomniac into a Spider-Man dev studio and the first game was just the beginning of many more to come.

I'm sure Sony has plenty of megatons in the bag after a year of next to nothing.

Their big VR game for Oculus hasn't come out yet (Stormland), but I guess from now on, Insomniac will be making VR games exclusively for PSVR and PSVR2?

Also can't wait to see how Spider-Man 2 looks on PS5.
