Sony has no new ideas, they can't even get their controller right. Time to copy MS and Nintendo again

Look it's a problem, the Dual Shock is trash. Always has been. It didn't matter as much when it first came out for the PS1 because back then it was just starting so we didn't know what the perfect controller would eventually look like. Sony released two analog controllers back then before the dualshock. I know because I owned them both then the dualshock.

Today it has been perfected. Microsoft has the best controller. Nintendo copied it with their pro and they have the best controller as well. I have both controllers and use them extensively and they are both phenomenal.

Dual shock is trash. I know a lot of you Sony defense cows will say you love the dual shock. What I am proposing is not for Sony to get rid of the dual shock. All I am asking is for them to offer a "pro" version or an "American" version or whatever they want to call it that looks almost exactly like an Xbox/Nintendo Pro controller. Offer it as an option.

TLDR;

Sony should release an optional controller that is similar to the Xbox/Nintendo Pro controllers. Same button layout, size feel and all of that. If you don't like it then don't buy it. But offer it as an option. This will have two major impacts on Playstation. One, anyone who likes good controllers will have the option. Two, regular dual shock prices will plummet as no one given the option would want to play with that trash. Bonus will be when Sony realizes this and changes the controller for the PS5 and finally does away with that abysmal crap they've had for so many years.

I like the dual shock but I prefer the x360 controller.

Not fond of the dpad and shoulder buttons of any XB1 gen controllers.

I wish the DS4 had better triggers and slightly taller share/option buttons.

Haven't touched the separate controller of the Switch.

Aren't there 3rd party controllers that kinda do that for Sony though? I'm not sure.

In other news...

Tons of peripherals to make any controller work for you. Also if I'm correct, Scuf Gaming licensed its Tech to MS for the Elite Controller. So its pretty much the same as this Sony Controller, both using Scuf Gaming Tech.

In order to combat with the Elite controller, SCUF literally released an "Elite" PS4 controller.

Meh, I just bought a CronusMax Plus a while back to use for my PS3/PS4. It lets me hook up my Xbox controller, so I don't have to worry about Sony making something decent.

FYI: you do know there have been alternative Xbox version controllers for PS4 for a while now...yet the original DS4 black is the most sold...IN HISTORY.

If the bone controller was really that much better, people would buy them and those cheap adapters. The DS4 is a damn good controller. I prefer the Switch Pro controller, though. Just feels a bit better.

I don't know. But i know the Gears community hate the bumpers on the elite and like the normal Bone controller.

To be fair though if the console has sold way more, than the controllers to are going to sell as well. People didn't choose the ps4 over the xbox for the controllers, but for the exclusives.

The DS4 is a great controller as is. It's far better than the previous Dualshocks.

@quadknight: To be fair, I can see why the sales are so high.

I'm thinking of buying a second PS4 controller myself, since the one I currently have is awful.

Maybe a replacement one will have a battery life of more than a few hours?
