#XboxOneX will force users to download 4K patches, regardless of if you have a 4K TV or not.

Keyword, FORCE, which has an automatic negative connotation as if getting the better graphics you paid for is BAD and DECEPTIVE.

They couldn't have worded it, "How X1X will deliver better graphics to those without 4k TVs", that would be actual honest gaming journalism.

Everyone knows damn well they made no such similarly negative-worded tweet when talking about how games will download patches for PS4 Pro users.

Oh, and the guy in the accompanying video is wearing a Playstation shirt.

The media bias is real, but if you look through the comments nobody is fooled and IGN is being called out as the Sony shills they are.

How is it a negative to be forced to download a 4K patch, if it makes it look better even on 1080p TVs?

Oh it's no secret that IGN is full of Sony fanboys... GS too for that matter.

I remember watching IGN's Sony E3 summary show and they were all hyperventilating saying how awesome the conference was. Lmao... gotta be joking.

I agree. There is a reason a gamer with a 1080p TV is buying an X1X instead of an X1S.

What if 1080p folks don' WANT these updates? Maybe this system really isn't for them.

Exactly. Hopefully a gamer that has a 1080p tv that doesn't want an X1X doesn't buy an X1X. They should buy an X1S.

Semantics Wars?

I don't think there's much of a problem with discussing media bias on a grander scale, especially since this is GameSpot and not IGN. Taking the context of a Tweet of all things and assuming bias from the word "force," regardless of how many replies to the Tweet think this is a negative, is hardly enough to warrant a thread.
