Sonic Lost World Flops Hard at IGN & GS. 5.8/5.0

Sega has no direction. Every Nintendo Console exclusive Sonic games has low production effort, or a lower production effort than the games released on other systems. The fact they though they could get away with that with a somewhat mainline title ONLY exclusive to Nintendo was a flop incoming.

The last 2 good portable sonic games according to critics where two on the IOS, and the last great Sonic Console game was Generations. Sega seems t believe because the crappy sonic spin-offs do so well, and that nintendo supports them that the Sonic audience is actually on Nintendo consoles, which makes no sense. If Sonic 2006 was on the Wii no nigga was going to pick that game up and the PS3 and Xbox 360 fans would have been.

I mean come on, on rails Sonic games and the Olympic games among a few others did well and somehow they flip that into thinking this odd attempt would work? If Sega wanted to capitalize on Nostalgia they amde the wrong decision aiming big Sonic Adventure only on the Nintendo platform. With production that pales severely to Generations and Unleashed, which sold more on the other consoles, and the Wii version had cut content.

Sonic is Segas life saving franchise, or it was, and that's slowly becoming a thing of the past, Sonic is becoming a Nintendo mascot, and soon he will vanish from view with barely any dedicated fanbase left. Just like Nights 2, because this games feels like Nights 2 from the 4 hours I actually was able to play of the game (U version) and the lask of dedication and care, and production effort is just abysmal.

Whenever I get a Wii U I'll still pick it up.

That's disappointing. I've played both Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations (at a friend's house) and they were both excellent. (I've played the majority of both games, I just don't have a copy). Wonder what went wrong with this entry.

The Same quality to expect from King of fighters excluding 13 and all before 1999. They want that Nostalgia to explode in their face, Lost world did not do it, Generations did, the process of bad, average, and passable games games getting good review because of nostalgia

@Jakandsigz: What? i didn't understand? are you saying that KOF relies on Nostalgia? Anyway after 1999 they had some great games, aside from XII and New Wave mosf of the games have been solid fighters.

Hype thread or no, this game is a flop. Tons of people were excited for this one, and a 5.0 just is not good. It's a shame, really. I was expecting the game to score in the 7-8 range.

Sega messing up yet another Sonic game. How could it be a flop if every single game from them is a flop?

This one looked really good. Sega really just needs to come up with a new IP for platformers, imo. Sonic just doesn't work because people don't like the idea of Sonic not running 100 mph the whole way through the game, and the gameplay is crap if Sega actually tries to build the game around speed.

Didn't watch the GS review, but IGN review is laughable, all they complain was about the speed. I for one will be beta testing this on the inferior WiiU along with the sheeps, then I'll get the complete version on the PS4.

I'm not denying that the game isn't doing too well with the critics, but I'm just saying it's hard to call this a SW style flop, which is the sole reason I'm even bringing up the lack of a hype thread.

The game scored a 5. If the game had scored a 7 or maybe even a 6 you would have a point, but come on. A 5 is terrible. Hype threads don't even go that low.

I'm sorry, but I thought a 5 was in the "mediocre" or "meh" range? Terrible is around 2.

How else are we supposed to know there was hype in this forum then? Saying "people were talking about it" makes it feel like a cop-out.

Just because you can't tell there is hype doesn't mean we all can't.

True.......mega drive sonic games are the best sonic games.

For example: Rayman Legends was hyped by Nintendo fans until that got delayed to make it multiplatform, making the release date compete with Grand Theft Auto V, and started a controversy that even had a developer for the game pissed off. And thus, that game is bombing in sales because of it. And there was hype for it here, only to reach it's AAA goal on non-Nintendo consoles.

I'm hardly seeing it in this forum for Sonic outside of threads prior to the reviews showing off the game and how some people were excited for it.

Reading the Gamespot review makes me really want to give this game a try. It sounds great. I'm going to wait until it gets cheap, though. I have a hard time believing just about every reviewer could be wrong, and that there must be something else wrong with the game besides punishing difficulty.

Jeez I was off on my prediction of 7.0. First time I was ever off by that much.

From the looks of it, it's either you like it, or you really hate it judging by the scores. Overall it's not too hot, but it seems that some can find a decent game in there.

I was always planning on getting it bargain bin anyways so no shirt off my back.
