Sonic co-creator and Balan Wonderworld director Yuji Naka seemingly gone from Square Enix

After joining the company and creating just a single game there, Yuji Naka is apparently no longer with Square Enix. Naka, who directed the title and is often attributed as the creator of Sonic the Hedgehog, updated his LinkedIn and Facebook pages to show that he has moved on. It appears that Naka left Square Enix on April 30.

Naka told IGN last year that Balan Wonderworld was his “once change” to create a full-scale platformer.

Balan Wonderworld launched on Switch and other platforms this past March. Unfortunately, the critical reception was negative.

Had to google the game. Another childish title on the Switch. Nobody is surprised.

Game flopped and was on sale fast Square was like peace bro your outa here.

I remembered. This looked like trash from it's first reveal.

Balan Wonderland was released on multiple platforms and was previewed and reviewed by major gaming outlets.

The game was atrocious from what I played. I really wanted this to be good but it'll go down in infamy like Bubsy 3D.

When I first learned about Balan Wonderland, I thought it looked like a game made by a Western developer.

I was really hoping that this would have turned out to be a quality follow up of Nights into Dreams. I really enjoyed that game back in the day on the Saturn. Shame it didn’t turn out that way.

It's multiplat. On PS4, XBOX ONE, and PC.

Its a decent game then. Forget what i said.

I still want to play Wonderland even though it has always looked like a high art train wreck, but if anyone had to go then what he has on his resume is the least of my concerns.
