-the link shows 5 different games as well. with videos of each game running at 30fps and 60fps...they are in a way better quality than the gifs i posted here too. the site challenges people to see a major difference. and i wonder...do you guys? do you see a major difference between 60fps in comparison to 30fps? for me, what i see anything its slight...THE 30 fps GIF IS ON TOP...60fps GIF, ON BOTTOM.

I sure can. The difference is very obvious to me.

Well considering the PS4 down scales it's fps so much that its barely at 60fps anyway. Not to mention the fact those two gif's aren't even that much different I showed them to two people and they said they look the same, It's so sad what sony fans cling on to.

Microsoft hasn't even used the full potential of the xbox yet and can look identical. Let it go people.

I think there is a noticeable difference, but I will say you notice it the most when you are actually playing the game. GIF comparisons are not that effective IMO.

The human eye does'nt see fps at all.

Good motion blur does a lot to mask the choppiness of 30 fps ofc.

exactly the same thing they said with the PS4 and X1 comparison, but you can realize the PS4 is much more crispier than the X1. and its gonna be that way til the end

... I didn't even bother looking at the gifs. Zero reason too, I know there is a major difference between 30-60fps especially when playing in a competitive game. Anyone saying other wise has horrible eyes.

There is a difference (admittedly, I really can't see a difference in those gifs, though). I don't think that when someone is in a fast paced game, he/she doesn't have time to notice the subtle difference between 720p and 1080p, though.

Who cares about seeing the difference? I can't see much of difference in the two but can sure as hell feel it in anything with high sensitivity input. M&K in an FPS at 30fps is very noticeable.

@StormyJoe: When on my ps3 or even my computer playing on a 60inch plasma tv, I can notice a difference between 720 and 1080p. I must have amazing eyes, since so many people can't seem to see with clarity. 720 on any game on my 60inch is a blurry jagged mess unless I crank the aliasing up or do super sampling. 1080p is far better clearing up the image and making it far more crisp. I can even take it a step higher on my 1440p monitor, and get an even clearer and crisper image. Even on it I can notice a change sitting back a few feet between the three resolutions. There is a difference and noticeable one for both resolution and frame rate. There is no real debate on this just people on forums who don't know too much about anything or have horrible eyes talking out their asses about resolutions and frame rates.

Interestingly enough, the only people who talk about 1080p being such an incredible difference, are cows.

Look, I am a technophile - I have thousands and thousands of dollars tied to my home theater, and I can admit there isn't a big difference. I am not saying there is "no difference", but it's negligible. You people talk as though it is a difference between VHS and Blu Ray. So yes, your eyes defy medical science - perhaps you are an X-Man and don't know it.

This.... some people are just blind to the differences... hell my nan can't tell the difference between sky and sky hd. my girlfreind can't tell the difference between her crappy laptop playing FFXIV and the PS4 version ... despite there being a massive difference.

Hell, she tried playing Tomb raider on our TV from her laptop.... I picked up the controller ... and Lara was taking ages to move... (well, chopping, desynced from controller movement.) yet she didn't realise.... she jsut thought lara was meant to be delayed like that.

I don't know the purpose of this thread... to push down the differences in FPS to make the X1 look ok? well you failed....

Its not just about what eyes perceive.... its the response to input... is infact a much bigger deal than the sight bit. a game at 60 FPS is far more responsive. god you can see that with games like Dark Souls PC version... over Dark Souls console version.

If either of those gifs are showing actual 60 fps and 30 fps gameplay, that has to be the worst animated game ever made.

30 fps? maybe. I wouldn't be surprised if they are even worse.

Those GIFs are both at lower than 30fps on my PC and I'll bet on most others.You can and always will be able to see the difference between 30fps and 60fps. Denying that there is little or no difference is just staying ignorant at this point.

It's sad that in 2014 there are still people denying there is a difference all because of console fanboyism.

You feel the difference as much as you see it. When I got a 120HZ monitor and fired up Skyrim, which would run at 120FPS, I noticed a much higher feedback loop of my actions and the on-screen response. It's not something that can easily be demonstrated in an online format. The closest I've seen to highlighting the improvements was when they released the Ground Zeroes comparison video and showed snake running in slow motion. If you look at that video and claim not to see a difference, then you have cognitive or visual problems.

My wife and I played through TLOU together and she didn't know what I meant when I would say things like "Man this frame rate is kinda shitty." She also doesn't see the huge difference between Titanfall on PC and Xbox One. Trained eyes can tell the difference. Hell, I got in a huge fight on an Infamous Twitch channel because the streamer and the dozens of fanboys swore up and down that the game was running at 60 fps. And of course you can't post links in Twitch channels without getting in trouble with mods. I ended up having to prove I owned the game and a PS4 and talked a few of them into google searching the truth.

Infamous is a great example though of how great a game can look if you drop the frame rate from 60fps to 30fps. I'm sure 30fps will be the norm this gen. And lets see if 1080p sticks or not. Sony fanboys kinda shot themselves in the foot with all that "1080p and 60fps is the standard" hype.

Those GIFs look like they are at the same frame rate. In games the difference between 30 and 60 is easily noticeable most games just feel so much better to play.

I could see that the 60 fps was running faster than the 30 fps.

If the human eye can see the difference between 15 fps and 30 fps, it can see the difference between 30 fps and 60 fps.

I can see that 60fps is smoother but it isn't so profound that I would choose one platform over another just for it.

higher framerate reduces judder.

higher framerate make the games look cleaner.

higher framerate has more benefits than a resolution increment. Which is why I don't and will never understand why game devs focus so much in 1080p. Although framerate is not something you can see on promotional screens or trailers since most of them we watch them through youtube's crap video player. Youtube fucking sucks, especially when we have much superior and FREE options like Vimeo.

it is very obvious when you are playing the game, not watching compressed gifs.

For the type of titles I prefer, it's not really important. I don't do MP and only do racers once in a while. However, there's definitely a difference in those type of games.

The higher the FPS the better. I wish I could run all my games at 120FPS.

for some people sure, for me it's a huge difference. When the framerate drops below 30 for a second it ruins the game for me, at 60fps I feel more immersed and can handle small dips but at 30fps I usually feel nauseated and often can't finish or play games with low framerates because it's just not fun and I feel sick.

60fps makes the game more immersive , improves controls' responsiveness and makes animations more fluid . A lot better experience than 22-28fps (so called 30fps) .
